Had my first shot of vodka last night.

I was at a friend's birthday party at this nice Russian restaurant where each person's place was set with a plate, cutlery, regular glass and a shot glass xd

As a general rule I don't drink, but it was my crazy Russian friend's birthday and I was getting a lift home so I thought 'what the hell'.

First impression was eek . It burnt for about a minute or so, then I felt normal.

So, this thread is for describing/discussing various 'firsts'. It can be anything you like, first car/job/school/boyfriend/girlfriend/alcoholic drink/stubbed toe

So, yeah...go for it! biggrin

My first drink... can't remember how old I was... I grew up having a small amount of wine with lunch on the farm as a kid. Apparantly gets your body used to it so you don't go off the rails when you drink when you're older.

I'd say the biggest first for me was getting my first car. That and my first day of high school. Those are the two I remember the most.

I've also heard that about alcohol. It's like, if you grow up having a little bit now and then with your family then it takes the away the whole 'forbidden fruit' idea and when you don't feel the need to drink in excess when you're legal. lol

First day of high school was a big one for me too. School started earlier and was no longer a five minute walk from my house. I had to catch a bus! xd
That took some adjusting too.

Yeah I remember catching two busses and a train to get to high school. And not having my own desk with my own drawer and having to organize myself better lol.

My first sip of alcohol was for my first communion. I pulled a face in front of the mass and embarrassed my parents. sweatdrop I was never very religious...

But I do enjoy a sip of port or two from my dad's glass. I've never had a whole alcoholic drink before though. I'm too paranoid I'll get drunk and someone will convince me to make out with a lampost and tape it. I'd prefer to be sober when I do things like that.
