The story starts out hundreds of years back. The story of the pride who has never left the promise lands, who has reigned over the territory for years. Lions, a pride, not just any pride though who consisted of mainly females, and possibly one or more males. No, this pride was made up of monogamistic animals who usally love on one mate. The pride however does have leaders, a king and queen of the lands who are kind and gental, and have always passed on these traits to heirs, until one year... A cub was born. Mane black as night. And heart to match. He wanted to rule all of the land and have the lioness to himself. When the king and queen heard this they banished their young prince into the shadow lands just beyond their borders, so they can watch their son... but his dark intentions are not forgotten.

Liefay and Kalaa walked by each other, Kalaa staying under her moms feet, keeping close. Liefay lied on the ground, under a tree, Staying cool, by a small stream passing by. She watched Kalaa closly as she went off and played in the stream.

Seraku stepped into the morning sun from the cliffs his higharchy had called home. He yawned, releasing a growl at the end of his terrace. He peered through the dawn to see his lands. As he looked he grinned, but his heart still sunk at seeing the dark lands that etched so close to his home.
Seraku shook his white mane, forgetting the past and lept down into his powerful paws, walking with a slight lumber towards the water hole which sustained all the life in the promise lands.

The white lion gazed sleepily at the cub at play, then to the lioness in his path. It is a nice morning Liefay. I am good as the skies are blue today. And how are you this morning?" He had said back just as sweetly before he had to yawn once more, loosening his jaws from the long night he had slept in the den, which was mostly rock and bedding, neither comfortable.

Seraku smiled at the little cub as he took her by her tail and dragged her back towards him. He loved playing with this little cub, and any cub. It showed them how kind and caring he was. Seraku nuzzled the cub and then licked her fur until the hairs lay forward and not back against her skin.

Yet agian he yawned, not from bordum, but to shake the sleepiness from his eyes. He gestured for the two to follow him to the watering hole, for his throat ached in thirst. He rose up straightly to show his power, he didnt need to do that infront of Liefay since they knew eachother for a long time. As he walked by, other lions stared, some in jealousy, some in greatfullness, or some in loving eyes. Many kept their cubs away from his large paws as they pushed the dry dirty out of the way as he walked. A few brave cubs would come to him and rub agianst his forpaws or tugg on his tail in play. Many actions were followed by their mothers worried call that they would displease him. But he just grinned, or scared them with a tiny playful growl.

Leifay fallowed, keeping Kalaa from running too far with a small growl, Or she let Kalaa run to Seraku, Letting her rub between his masive paws. Kalaa giggled and ran along, Showing her pride as she passed people, Hoping her 'friends' would be jealous of her. Keeping ebery bit of pride when she got the sourful looks. Leifay giggled, knowing what Kalaa was doing, then gaining speed to be right behind Seraku.

Seraku came closer to the water hole as the earth turned wet. His paws left deep imprints larger then kalaa's body alone. He leaned down, first seeing his own reflection in the clear spring water, then turning his golden eyes up as he lapped up the water with his large tongue. He was surprised Leifay had let the cub come to the watering hole with so many animals at it during this time. But he supposed it was time for Kalaa to grow and expand her horizons. Kalaa. Come here." he purred as he finished his drink with water falling from his chin.

Liefay walked under a tree, letting her body fall on the ground... She felt lazy, she didnt know why, She stood up again, drinking, pushing Kalaa towards Seraku. Kalaa walked toward Seraku, "Yes?" She said in a childish voice.

Kalaa smiled, a friend of hers told her the real meaning, but no one really ever trusted him, "It's a zebra, but what does that matter because its food..." She smiled looking back at her mom, but Leifay only shot a glar back at her because she knew better.

Seraku laughed genuinly in his deep rolling voice, "But why does the Zebra fear me less than she fears your mother? And why does it respect us? When we hunt them, what kinds do you take?" he said quizzically at the young lioness.
