Well, I suppose I'm a bit young for this, but I'm willing to give it a go. As my signature denotes, I'm a survivor of cancer. I've been in remission for a few months, and I can tell you that it feels amazing! However, it is a bit lonely...
So, tired of going to school events Stag and being the third wheel a bit too often, I've decided to give dating....or, people searching, on the computer a try. Now now, I know what you're thinking:
"Get a dog!" The family has two, along with four cats.
"Get a life!" Trying to!
"Get a grip!" Already lost mine sweatdrop
Now, I know why most people try to find others on the internet- but, I want it for different reasons. When I talk to someone, I want them to look into my eyes- hell even my upper body would suffice! (Instead of these blasted leg braces I have to wear...) I want them to see me as a person, as an intelligent conversation, someone who knows about the worldly issues instead of a sickly child that might fall apart if you touch them.
So, for this..... any takers?
Or since that's probably not even allowed- any advice on how to meet someone truly worth my time? I came so close to losing it, and now that I have it, I want to spend it wisely ^_^
I've been through the whole "from one date/person to another" thing, and it's crap.
So......a little help?

First all of, congratulations for surviving, cancer is horrible, I couldn't imagine what it'd be like to have to face it and despite not knowing you I'm glad you're on the way to recovery.
Well I don't think I'm the person you're looking for plus I'm taken but I completely understand what you're after and its not stupid so don't let anyone say otherwise.
If you're searching for people on Gaia well I'd just jump into forums and talk to people. You'll quickly come across someone you connect with. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hmmm...
To be honest,I've done it.
My last two girlfriends (Each I dated for a year),I met on the computer,funnily enough the first of the two I met on here.She randomly added me because I looked cool xD We hit it off and were together a year before she cheated on and broke up with me.The second I met on the computer,can't bloody remember where.But at any rate,that last a year too,unfortunatley ending on my b-day. -Ahem- but that stuff isn't very relevent xD
My advice to you toward finding people via computer/internet is this:
First,make sure/see if they're close,within the same state or the one next to you.It'll be better trust me.
Second,Tell them from the start (Even though it didn't make any difference for me) that if they start drifting or stop liking you that way,not to lead you on and to just end it,instead of sneaking around and cheating and what not.It'd hurt less.
Anywho,congrats one surviving cancer! -hug- you're the second person I know to do it ^^
