It sucks so hard because it's an abomination on people's minds. They've made an f***ing religion. That's pretty bad, wouldn't you say?
Also, the fact that it's like a Mary-Sue & Gary-Stu love story is sickening, to say the least.
It's basically set all decent vampire myths on fire, and made them look like a bunch of ballerinas.

I mostly stick to a more nerdy aspect. Personally I love vampires, but there are rules to vampires. First and foremost in my argument is that a true vampire can't head out into the light of day without becoming injured or dying. Twilight is a major insult to true vampirism, and should be destroyed before it can further corrupt youth.

Personally, I think Edward only fits half of #3, because he isn't a woman (well, we don't know that for sure) and Bella doesn't realize that (and they call her smart).
I think Twilight is so unrealistic. It's like a house. A normal one would probably have a few crooked walls. A Twilight house, however, would have perfectly straight walls. No cracks, no loose doors, no bugs or spiders inside. Just an unrealistic house. And it would appear to have no flaws, but the house actually would not be able to withstand the slightest breeze.

...I'm just going to copy my other post. I don't want to expend the effort on this THING again. Asuna6573 Several reasons.
1. The book contradicts it self SO many times. (see: Breaking Dawn) VAMPIRES DO NOT REPRODUCE!!! I'm not even going to mention the science fails...
2. The severe lack of plot, except for small bits here and there. It is all centered around the horrific "twu luv" concept. Breaking Dawn only had an EPIC FAIL of an anti-climatic thing. Twilight: the whole James thing was stupid and seemed to be stuck in as an after thought. None that I could see in New Moon: It's mostly Bella angsting. Eclipse was slightly better in that, but not much. Only by about a yoctogram. Look it up. Unlike SOMEONE did when writing a certain thing.
3. The only attraction we see from Bella about Edward is his looks. No personality. Hopefully, Edward isn't as bad, but I HIGHLY doubt it. Midnight Sun will tell... But again, I HIGHLY doubt it.
4. The writing style. IT BURNS!!! If I see something like that on Fiction Press and Fan Fic dot net, Almost everyone asks them to change it. They listen. Smeyer? Not so much. Too much description, but only about the Cullens. Everything else, shoved to the side. I would AT LEAST have settled for the description of the setting. BUT NOOOO! That would just be too much work, now, wouldn't it? *deep breaths* Moving on...
5. The relationship. Or, should I say, realtionsh*t. Edward= Abusive and controlling. It has been said many times, and it will be said many times more. And mental abuse is FAR worse than physical most of the time. Bella =Too weak and rather scared of Edward. Now, she MIGHT have a reason for that. But being afraid to visit her BEST FRIEND because Edward says no? FAIL, SMEYER! FAIL! Do NOT try writing strong female characters. IT BURNS OUR EYES!
6. The fanbase SICKENS me. The books were bad enough. But these... people keep saying it's the best thing ever! Saying it's better than HP, when they haven't even read it! Making a freaking religion, or a cult as I and many people call it, about a book that would be burned on any fiction website. People being physically attacked over not liking or hating this book. Heck, a few animals were killed over it! (Poor, poor Mopsy...) Not to mention that they all practically worship the "author"(it burns to say that), who decided to write about these THINGS! Now, if there are sane fans, they are few and far between. Granted, I have met a few. About 2 people out of my 500+ school.
7. The author herself. If the last SIX reasons didn't seal it for me, she did. She refuses to listen to any criticism. She charges for book signings, the last I heard. She got so sad and heartbroken because she's such an "oh-so-speciful-snowflake" when her draft was leaked. COME ON, WOMAN, STICK UP FOR YOURSELF AND KEEP WRITING! Oh, wait, you don't know that. Because you believe Bella is a good character, you must act that way yourself. Ugh. just... ugh. And she, while not going out and saying it, slightly helps out the mass nutso fanbase. She doesn't ask them to stop. I honestly think she enjoys having fans THAT devoted to her.
8. The mass merchandising hurts to look at. Walking around town and seeing Twilight bags, pins (poor SOULS, ruined), shirts, GLITTER, smelling that HORRID perfume, action figures, board games, WHEN WILL IT END?! It's bad enough that this sh*tty book gets so much praise. Oh no, I have to look around and see it wherever I go. Not to mention the shelves full of the awful series. It just... It makes me want to become a mass arsonist, let me put it that way.
*sighs* Okay, my rant is done. At least, for now it is.
