Hello everyone! While discussing with dami, we have come up with several ideas that we think are interesting to have in an RP, and want to know the player feedback on the ideas in general.
Classes - For each side you choose in an RP, there are classes that detail how you can do certain things in the roleplay. For example, each class will have certain advantages over other classes. That way, if you come across a character in one of our roleplays, you know that you complement or hinder the character in your own special way. An example would be a Knight class fighting against a person who has chosen the Archer class (this is all made up, btw) - The Knight class has a innate ability to be able to take arrow hits without fail, so the Archer can roleplay shots at the Knight, but will be surprised (or not) when the Knight just roleplays "Using Arrowguard, Ashodin steps through the hailfire of arrows without so much as a scratch, catching the Archer offguard."
Leveling - Tying in with the previous idea, with every post and stride in the RPs, you gain towards greatness. Reaching a new level can unlock new abilities, items, and various other goodies deemed by the RPMaster. (RPMaster being the one setting up the RP, of course.) Leveling is of course brought on by EXP (experience). For every post you make within a sufficient length, you earn a certain amount of EXP. It is the same amount of EXP to every level, so you don't have to worry about posting crazy amounts to reach the next level. Also in the works is reaching certain levels unlock certain abilities just for being a member.
Items/Equipment - Unfortunately, we can't give out items in Gaia or this would be even cooler a feature, but we can still make it so that your equipment in our RPs reflects your class and have neato things. For example, say Ashodin the Knight walks into virtual RP store, and asks for a nice sword. The store owner shows off a nice new Flaming Greatsword, allowing Ashodin to perform Blazing Rush, an attack that has a 25% chance (using 100 sided roll) of putting someone on fire. If the post is made, and the roll is under the chance needed, then the next person who was hit needs to roleplay being on fire, or next poster needs to account for the fact that the previous person just put the enemy they were fighting on fire. It's a neat little idea I thought up to bring personalization to the RPs we have. Along with these items, we were looking to include rewards for those members who complete sub-RPs and sub-quests within the main storylines.
Those are our ideas, what do you guys think? Would it be cool to set up these systems for our RPs?

Correction, rewards will not be for "completing" sub-forums or storylines, rewards will be for certain achievements such as X-posts etc. because we cannot possibly say that something is "complete" since this is an open RP and not a video game. sweatdrop

Maku_Wasaku I really like this. It sounds very promising! Great job guys! Thank you! I really hope other people like it too. Also Maku, if I could ask you, can you drum up some more members for the guild? I think you said that you were the one that can recruit new people very well. And "completed" storylines/sub-forums can mean a part where I become an NPC villain and throw them at the players to defeat. Surely rewards are merited after RPing off a major baddie sweatdrop

Eeek. I can try, im not a very persisten recruiter by anymeans. I just got back after a needed break. That was definently someone else. haha. I might have a few though.

So what kind of classes will there be? Like normal mmos? Archer, mage, warrior, healer and the like?

I'll be detailing them and writing them out, but yeah, there'll be definitely some sort of healer if people want to play one, but that's only if everyone who wants to RP wants to RP with these features 3nodding I also have cool ideas for the items (hint hint, icons!)

I just need a few more people to give it their OK (we're democratic, yay!) and I'll go nuts with all the details and things.
