While listening to a song, have you ever thought "hey this could totally go with Supernatural"?
I most commonly listen to lyrics in a song, rather than the beat, and ALL THE TIME I think the lyrics to songs really match up with Supernatural plots/characters/theme's etc.

So I thought I'd make this little thread for anyone to post songs that remind them of Supernatural. IF you're posting a song that you believe goes well with SPN, please explain why you think so, and if you could put up a youtube/imeem link to the song that would be great ^^

I'll start it.

"Red Car" by November All Stars. They're a really obscure little band from Canada, my dad brought me back a cd when he went out there a few years ago and I listened to the lyrics halfway through season two and this song just really stuck out for the boys. I can't find a link to it, but I'm gonna put up the lyrics, I think you'll get where I'm coming from just from those.

Songs that remind me of Mary and John's relationship:
1. Shes' on fire by Train. I mean the title is enough lol, but it's a song about a tough weird girl and a guy who falls for her.

2. Bleeding Love "I don't care what they say/ I'm in love with you/ they try to pull me away/ but they don't know the truth" Reminds me of how Mary's father tried to keep her away from John.

3.Check Yes Juliet It's a song about forbidden young love. Nuff said.

Songs that remind me of Mary:
1. Hurt Me This song reminds me of the YED and how he wanted to make the deal with Mary. "Hurt me/see me crawling on the floor/ is that what you've been longing for/ hurt me/ is there nothing you want more" He hurt her in every way possible to guilt her into the deal.

2. Infinite night by Carrie Rodriguez. "Boys with rifles in their hands/ far to young to understand/ when it's more than you can bear/ let the silence fill the air/ get a glimpse of the holy light/ the sun is just a star/ just a little part of the infinite night."The first part makes me think of Mary looking down at her sons and shaking head almost because they became hunters. Then the rest is like saying 'the hunters are only a tiny defense against all the evil in the world, there's only do much you can do'

Songs that remind me of the YED:
1. Shockwave "I go around taking peoples lives.... can't everybody feel the pain?/ and when I'm done you will be no more/ your mama's gone now life begins" ... "I'm a shockwave babe and I don't need anyone/ I'll follow my ways till the day that I die/I'm a shockwave babe and I'll take your/ life/ don't mess with me I'm a shockwave rearing to kill"

Songs that remind me of Lilith:
1. Cheap and Cheerful by The Kills. "I'm bored of cheap and cheerful/ i want expensive sadness/ hospital bills parole/ open doors to madness/ I want you to be crazy cause you're boring baby when your sane" (she's a sadistic b!tch, it just fits)

2. Sweet about me "Tell ya something I found/ the worlds a better pace when it's upside down"... "sweet about me?/ Nothing sweet about me" Lilith plays behind the image of a sweet little girl, which makes her all the more twisted.

Songs that remind me of Dean:
1. Whipping Boy "By now I've showed you how much I believe in here and now and I wish you knew/Lay all you want on me/ I'll be your whipping boy" (He just takes all the crap from his family and deals with it without a word)... "Searchin for something for your head/since then you've never come clean/I mean you wish you only could" (This part reminds me about Sam and all the secrets he hides) "I can get up/ i can get up" (He keeps going for his family despite all they've put him through.

2.Save Me by Remy Zero. This one is about Dean in hell IMO. Nuff said (also the theme song to Smallville lol)

3. Animal i have Become Three Days Grace. "I can't escape this hell/ so many times I've tried/ but I'm still caged inside/ somebody get me through this nightmare/ I can't control myself/ so what if you can see/ the darker side of me"..."Help me believe/ it's not the real me/ somebody help me tame this animal" When he went to hell he tortured souls, became an 'animal'. And he enjoyed it.

4. Jesus of Suburbia by Green Day. I'm sorry there's too many lyrics to explain lol. It's a nine minute long song. Just reminds me of him and the whole 'angel' deal. The vid has lyrcis, you can check them out and figure it out if ya want lol.

5. Always by Saliva. This one is a stretch because it's about love not brothers but I still feel it: "I hear a voice say don't be so blind/ It's telling me all these things/ that you would probably hide/" Sam lies to Dean constantly "Always/ I just can't live without you/ I love you/ I hate you/ I can't get around you/... I can't live without you/ I just cna't take anymore/ this life of solitude/ I pick my self off the floor/ now i'm done with you/ fcuk with you." Dean tries to forget about Sam and thank god for Bobby he doesn't lol.

6. Why do I keep counting? by the Killers. "Oh these years have been so trying/ I don't know if I can use them/ Am I strong enough to be the one?" ... "Help me get down/ I can't make it/ help me get down help me get down/ If I only knew the answer i wouldn't be bothering you" The angels were so cryptic on Dean's job in the apocalypse, but when he finds out what it is, he feels he can't do it (I beleive in ya Dean, lol).


Songs that remind me of Sam:
1. Ordinary by Train. "It's anything but ordinary/ and when the worlds on it's knees with me it's fine/ and when I come to the rescue I get nothing but left behind/ everybody seems to be getting what they need where's mine?/ cause you're everything I need but I'm anything but ordinary." ...." Can you save me from this world of mine/ before i get myself arrested with this expectation/ you are the one/ look what you've done/ what have you done? this is not some kind of joke/ you're just a kid/ you weren't ready for what you did" Totally about Sam's powers and being the 'demon king' and all that IMO.

2. Headstrong by Trapt. The song just reminds me of Sam's determination to stop Dean from going to hell.

3. Days by Train. "It's been days since I've been doing well/ since I don't feel like hell or crawling under you" Reminds me of how Sam was after Dean died and how he 'crawled under' Ruby, or went under her wing. "Have i become so uptight/ and if blame is the answer/ it's under control/ and if shame is the answer/ then send my soul/ And if shame is the answer/ I'm sending you mine" Sam blames himself for Dean's death and tries everything he can to bring him back but fails. He turns to pain, the search for power seek revenge. He turns to Ruby, and uses his powers (something shameful really)

4. It's all Over Three Days Grace. "You know this can't go on/ because of you my mind is always racing" .... "But it's all over for you/ when your on the edge and falling off/ it's all over for you/"... "I know what runs through your blood/ you do this all in vain/ because of you my mind is always racing/ and it gets under my skin/ to see you giving in" The whole thing makes me think of Sam's blood addiction.

5. Mr. Hurricane by Beast. "I never had a homeland/ I had no safety/ one day I saw a beast coming from across the sea/ I never knew fear until he came for me/"... 'I drank from his river/ it ruined my life"..."Can you imagine living one more day/ with a beast right up in your face/"..."Broke out of the harness/ stumbled in the darkness/ frolicked in the madness/"...."I stopped being the victim/ but you weren't there to see/ I never felt bitter till you crippled me/ I fell from the pain/ I had to wear that sh!t in shame/ never felt in love so deeply in vain/ promised never again Mr. Hurrcane." Sam developing his powers... he drank from the YED's 'river' and it started all of this. He lives with the 'Beast' right in his face (powers). He broke out of the 'harness' when Dean died and started using them. He promised his brother never again would he do it, but he went on anyway. The whole song reminds me of Sam and I actually considered making a video with it.

6. Going Under by Evanescence. "Now i will tell you what I've done for you/ 50,000 tears I've cried/ screaming/ deceiving and bleeding for you/ and you still won't hear me/ going under/ don't want your hand this time/ I'll save myself/ maybe I'll wake up for once/ tormented daily/ defeated by you/ just when I thought I'd reached the bottom/... I'm going under" Sam started the whole demon power thing because of Dean, but Dean doesn't like it. Sam breaks away from Dean and 'goes under 'with Ruby, sinking to a new low, and changing into something else.

Songs that remind me of John:
1. Cold "Looking back at me/ I see that I never eally got it right/ i never stopped to think of you/ I'm always wrapped in things I cannot win/" (This is exactly how John was with his kids) "To you I'm sorry about all the lies/ maybe in a different light/ you can see stand on my own again/ because now i can see/ you were the antidote that got me by" ..." "I never really/ wanted you to see the screwed up side of me that I keep/ locked up so deep/" (I see Dean with this because Dean saw the hunter side of his father the most) "I never/ really wanted you to go/ so many things you should have known" (Sam leaving for college)

Songs that remind me of Castiel:
1. Black and Gold by Sam Sparro It's a song totally about losing faith in god "Cause if you're not really there/ then the stars don't even matter/ now I've fell to the top of fear/ that's it's all just a bunch of matter/ cause if you're not really there/ I don't wanna be either/ I want to be next to you/ black and gold"

2. Angels on the Moon If Cas were ever to fall... this would be his song LOL. "This is to one last day in the shadows/ and to know a brothers love/ this is to angels/ and the rivers of our blood/ this is to all of us"

3. Like a Prayer by Mad'house (cover of madonna, i like this version better) I'm making a vid with this song right now, so yeah... when it's done I'll post it here to show ya what I mean XD

4. St. Jimmy by Green Day (arg wish I found the regular record... by live was best I could do) OK first, Jimmy? His vessel? Get it? XD
Also reminds me that he's not all sweet.... he has a dark side, mean side to him. This makes me think of that lol.

Songs that remind me of Anna:
1. (arg it's not on youtube) Ray of Light by Madonna. "Faster than the speeding light she's flying/ trying to remember/ where it all began/ she's got herself a little peice of heaven" Haha the last part makes me think of her and Dean wink
But the rest of the song really fits. She trying to remember who she is.

Songs that remind me of Ruby:
1. Cuz I can by Pink. "I'm back again I know ya'll missed/ I'm so so sick/ handle handle it?/ Yeah I talk sh!t just deal with it"..." You can try and try/ you can't beat me/ so I'll cash my cheack and place my bets/ and hope I'll always win/ even if I don't I'm fcuked because/ I live a life of sin/ but it's alright/ I don't give a damn/ I don't play your rules/ I make my own/ tonight I'll do what I want/ because I can." It's a all around b!tchy song, lol, and she 'placed her bets" on Sam, doing whatever it took to get him win her that bet (Release Lucy from his cage lol)

2. Untouched by the Veronicas. "don't give a damn what they say /what they think think/ Cause you're the only one who's on my mind/ I'll never ever let you leave me/ I'll try to stop time for ever/ never wanna hear you say goodbye/I feel so untouched/And I want you so much/That I just can't resist you/It's not enough to say that I miss you" Reminds me of her and Sam's relationship. "You can take take take take take time time/To live live the way you gotta gotta live your life/Give me give me give me all of you you/Don't be scared/I'll see you through the loneliness of one more more more/Don't even think about what's right or wrong, wrong or right/'Cause in the end it's only you and me and no one else is gonna be around/To answer all the questions left behind/And you and I are meant to be so even if the world falls down today/You've still got me to hold you up up/And I will never let you down (down)" Ok so she gave him time to get over Dean, and she helped him when he was alone. "don't be scared" of the powers and of her because she is a demon. And technically she did always protect him... she never did 'let him down'.

3. Black on Black 2 by Heart. "Don't you touch that dented thing/ a warning signal from above/ an inspection with the clean white glove/ they say I'm a sinister child/ like right and wrong/ black on black/ like pleasure with a little pain/ the sacred april rain/ ice and fire counter act/ like black on black" It's a forbidden love that Dean warns him not to get into because shes 'sinister', but Ruby tempts Sam anyway.

4. Poker Face by Lady Gaga. "Play the cards with spades to start/ and after he's been hooked I'll play the one that's on his heart/ I'll get him hott/ show him what I got/ can't read my/ can't read my/ no you can't read my poker face" She got Sam hooked and got him to do it by playing with his heart (literally and through the death of Dean, who he loved as well). Sam's too blind to see past her 'poker face'.

Songs the remind me of certain episodes:
1. Yellow Fever: Disturbia I know, I know, you all think 'oh jeez...' but listen to the lyrics, they fit Dean's disease so well it's weird: "Feels like I'm going insane/ It's a thief in the night to come and grab you/ a disease of the mind it can control you/ I feel like I'm on stuff"...."They ain't gonna play nice/watch out you might just go under/ better think twice/ your train of thought will be altered/ so if you must falter be wise"....."feels like the darkness is the light/ am I scaring you tonight/ this ain't used to what you like" especially the last part because this isn't what Dean is normally like.

2. In my Time of Dying Bring me to life Another common one, but the fact that it's sounds just like a song about someone being chased by a reaper just fits too well. "all of this time/ I can't believe i couldn't see/ kept in the dark/ but you were there to follow me" That stanza makes me think of when Dean realized Tessa was a reaper.

3. All Hell Breaks Loose Part II It Ends Tonight All-American Rejects. "I can't explain mysel at all/ and all the wants and all the needs I don't want to need at all/" (Dean making the deal) "When darkness turns to light/ it ends tonight" (The showdown with the YED)

4. No Rest for the Wicked Dance with the Devil by Breaking Benjamin. "Here i stand helpless and left for dead".... "Close your eyes/ so many days go by/ easy to find what's wrong/ harder to find what's right" (Trying to find a way out of the deal) "I won't last long/ in a world so wrong" (reminds me of Sam)

5. Sex and Violence This is how a heart breaks Rob Thomas. Exactly how the relationship between the boys has deteriorated so badly that they attack one another. I think the song voices the feelings of both of them so well. I gotta make a vid with this too, lol.

6. Lucifer Rising Hero "I'm so high I can hear heaven/ they say a hero can save us/ I'm not gonna stand here and wait/" ..."someone told me love will all save us/ but how can that be / look what love gave us/ a world filled with kiling/ and blood spilling/ that won't never change/ and they say that a hero can save us" I wanna make a recap vid with this song. I fits well imo. Both Sam and Dean are trying to play 'the hero' in their own way, but they both fail. Dean's forced to stand by 'and wait' but he doesn't want too.

General songs:
1. Feel Alive "You can tell/ when you feel in love/ and I can tell that there is something in your eye/ it's a tear/ it's a tear falling down/ when you feeel / when you feel/ when you feel alive/ do you feel alive?"I dunno with this one i always think of how hunters get hurt by something (There is a tear in your eye) and that is why they go into hunting, for revenge to feel alive again and fill the hole of loss, but it doesn't, and the song questions that "Do you feel alive?".

2. All these things I've done everything about this song SCREAMS Sam and Dean back in season 1. I mean "When there's not where else to run/ is there room for one more son?/ one more son/if you can hold on/ if you can hold on/ hold on" (This is Dean coming to pick Sam up at college) I wanna stand up/ I wanna let/ you know you know/ no you don't/ you don't" (this reminds me of Sam wanting to let go of hunting) "Another hate/ another heartbreak" (Reminds me of Sam and Jess) "You know you gotta help e out/ don't you leave me on the back burner/ you know you've gotta help me out" (this applies to both of them IMO)

3. Time to Pretend by MGMT. "Yeah it's overwhelming/ but what else can we do?/ Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?/ forget about our mothers and our friends/ we were fated to pretend" Sam and Dean forgo a normal life to 'pretend' or believe in things that most people could call 'pretend'.

4. In the End Linkin Park. Do I even need an explaination for this one? LOL this song applies to EVERY FREAKIN THING lol. There's prolly 4 million SPN vids with it, look 'em up and you'll get it if ya don't already.

5. Let it Rock LOL watch the video, I got obvious reasons XD

6. Up Up Up by Kerli. "Congratulations/ false expectations/ wrong destination/ and relaization/ that it's manifestation/ fakes sensation/ just immitation/ endless frustration/ it's all the peoples going up up up/ it's all the people saying down down down" I dunno, it reminds me of the angels... how they're supposed to be something great but it was just 'false expectations' and they lead to 'endless frustration'.

7. We Are by ana. "see the devil on the doorstep now/ telling everyone how to live their lives/ sliding down the information highway/ we're buying in just like a bunch of fool/ time if ticking and we can't go back/ what about the world today?/ what about the place that we call home?/ We've never been so many/ yet we've never been... so alone."
THE WHOLE SONG APPLIES IMO lol.

8. Demon eyes by The Answer "Looking out my narrow window tell you what i see/ the people are on the street/ their claws are on me/ could be this paranoia keeping me in tact? Grab my gun and lovk my door/ this time I'm fighting back" The song reminds me completely of Superbatural... it even has that AC/DC feel to it. The 'demon eyes' aspect of it reminds me of Dean dealing with Sam's powers "I'm terrified/ when you hide behind those demon eyes"
