Okay, first a few notes. This RP is a continuation of a plotline I've had running outside of the guild. Basically I was going to wait until the battle at Deathgate was over before starting it here, but that's taken so long that the events outside have suffered for it and the plot's gone stagnant.

So, in order to finish what i've started I'm going to have this thread taking place after the battle is over, even though it actually hasn't yet in real life xp Just bare with me on it. Later on in this thread I'll have something happen so that anyone in the guild who wants to join in can. So if you're interested gimme a pm or a post here then. Thanks!

Edit: From the PM's I got I apparently made it sound like this thread was closed off until I gave notice otherwise. Didn't mean to make it sound like that. Feel free to post in here as you like guys.

~The first thing Kami noticed as he decended the stairs to the archives was the air, which was surpisingly fresh. Because of the curse Dark Magus had placed on the temple, it had remained exactly as it was before the battle. Now that it was over, everyone had gone to work repairing and cleaning the shrine. Kami had taken it upon himself to clean and organise the archives. Partly to make himself useful, but mostly because there was something there he needed.

None of that helped the lighting situation however. While there were windows to give light to the large room, they were currently blocked by rubble outside. So until the monks working on that area were finished, he would have to figure out an alternative source of lighting.~

"Hrm... Fire's out. With all the old scrolls and books in here it'll just cause an inferno. And I can't use the "Eyes of the Rising Sun" technique with only one eye... " He subconciously scratched at his eyepatch as he thought about this. It was only one of the many things he had gained in the time he was gone from the monks, along with the many scars that now covered his body. Still, nobody seemed to question him about them. Probably because he didn't seem eager to talk about it.

"I should probably get help with this before I tackle anything. Hrm... I think I know exactly who to ask too..." Kami grinned as he turned and ascended the stairs to temple's main building.

"Kaminosai?"

It had been quite some time since she had last seen him. He didn't look any different, though. Of course, neither did she, but with her long lifetime and inability to fight, that was to be expected.

Brushing soft purple locks behind her pointed ears, the moon elf smiled gently,
"It's...been a while, hasn't it? You...look well."

Perhaps he was in a hurry-- he would know that he could brush her off easily if that was the case and she wouldn't get offended. Still, the elf thought it a good idea to at least attempt conversation with the man who had more than likely saved her life.

Atsu was going over the rebuilding plans in the main courtyard. The blueprints were spread out on the ground in front of him. As he consulted the building plans, mirages were dashing about the grounds, checking out the actual status of the structures. "Man, this is going to take a lot of work." He mumbled to himself.

~As he crested the stairs, Kami paused and blinked quizzically as someone called his name. He looked around a bit until he noticed Shiaree standing nearby. He smiled and scratched the back of his head, stopping to talk with her a bit.~ "Oh hey! Yeah it has been awhile. You're looking great yourself. Have you seen Ryu Darkwood around? I'm trying to get some help with the archives, and I think I can rope him into assisting me."

She shook her head, blushing a little at the compliment. Though he was rather brash, she'd a sort of fondness for him. Of course, the fact that her sometime lover was entirely evil probably eliminated any negative feelings towards brashness the elf might've had at one point.

"I'm afraid I've never met Ryu," she said softly,
"I've been gone from here much too long, it seems. There are so many new faces."

*Panda stares silently out at the vast piles of rubble, a dazed look apon her face. A light breeze brushes past her pale cheeks causing a few strands of her fire like red hair to come out of place in her pony tail and fall along the sides of her face. So this is the temple.... strange... I have never seen it before. I supose the battle at deathgate has keep me from visiting. She thinks to herself, taking in her surroundings.*

One of Atsu's mirages spots Panda looking around the grounds. "Hello there Panda, this is your first visit here, isn't it?" The mirage gestured around at the damage, everything from the rubble of the temple, to the large crevases cutting across the yard, including the giant tree growing out of the middle of everythign. "Watch your step, this place can be a little trecherous underfoot if you know what I mean."

((crap, I can't remember if the thorny vines were ever delt with, or if they are still all over the place. Do you remember Kura?))

"Yes, it does seem like this area could be rather dangerous..."
*Panda says in a quite voice, carefully stepping across the rubble.*
"So what exactly happened here? I know for some reason or another Dark Magus placed a curse upon this place but the details are more or less unknown to me."

((Nope. DM summoned a meteor thing and fried everything, especially the vine cluster. There'd probabbly be some underground or something))

*Kura is nowhere to be seen, for now*

((Oh yeah... that's right))

"He attacked us out of the blue. There was only a few of us here at the time, and Kura got stuck in the middle of it all. Magus twisted one of Kura's techniques and drove him insane. He turned on us as well. It was not a fun fight, he opened these fissures in the ground and grew poisonous vines all over the grounds. The battle raged on and eventually we turned Kura back to ourside. The god of nature then grew that," He gestured toward the gigantic tree, "and had a little face off with Magus. That's when he decided to curse the place and left. It was put into stasis, nothing could be changed, we couldn't repair or rebuild. At least until he was dead or his crystal destroyed. That's why we went to Deathgate, we wanted to get that crystal."

((Wow... that's close to what happened. Well, a very quick overview of what happened, anyone that knows better feel free to throw you own stuff in there.))

"Aye... I know that feeling." ~Kami chuckled and rubbed his chin while looking about a bit. It had been awhile since they'd come back to the temple. Or did it just feel that way? Time certainly was a fickle thing around Gaia, and it did feel like an eternity since he had escorted her to Deathgate. "Well, maybe you can give me hand? I just need to figure out some way of getting the archive's well lit without endangering the records...."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2004 4:42 pm

Shiaree tapped her chin thoughtfully, then sighed,
"I suppose I can try a Light spell," she said, biting her lip a bit,
"But I can't guarantee it will work. I haven't tried spellcasting since I left the High Temple, and I'm not sure if the Goddess will allow me to."

Praying for spells wouldn't take very long at all, but it was whether the Goddess was angry with her for leaving or not that was the real question. If she -was- angry, then she wouldn't be able to cast a spell at all, for the Goddess would be loathe to grant her anything.

"So thats how it happed...."
*Panda mutters, more to herself than to Atsu. Brushing back her hair from her eyes she glances over the ruins of the temple once more.*
"Well, anyway, it appears you have your work cut out for you repairing the temple. Would you like some assistance?"

The mirage smiled, "We can always use more help, some of us are better at physical labor than others," He demonstrates trying to pick up a rock, and passing through it. "We're trying to see what the exact extent of the damage is right now. So far it's not looking good." He looked around at the piles of debries, "If you're not opposed to manual labor, we need to get these piles sorted out. Some of these blocks should still be okay to use again, while others simply aren't."

"Well, I probably don't know much about the goddess you worship, but if she's anything like the one's in Shinto then your location shouldn't matter. Your own faith should be enough for them." ~Kami chuckled a bit as he spoke, he'd had his run-in's with one or two lower dieties in his time. They were fickle creature's to say the least, but with the right choice of words they can be swayed to most anything. Then again, even deities have rules they have to follow, and Kami knew most of them. "But hey, it can't hurt to try right?"

~With a smile he turned and lead the way back down the stairwell. The archives were indeed dark. It was difficult to see more than a few feet inside. The toppled bookshelves and scrollcases made large, angular shadows. Like a bibliological mountain range. Kami sighed a bit as he looked it over, trying not to get too apprehensive before he could see what the real damage was.~
