Lex slid past the tree quietly, careful to draw no attention to himself. He would soon reach the raider's camp, and soon he would get himself into a bit of trouble. "Eryn, be ready," he whispered, eying the cat who lurked in the shadows of the trees.

The scouts did not see what hit them, they were on the ground within seconds of each other, convulsing wildly, flashes of electricity crackled their skin. Lex smiled inwardly at his skill, stopping briefly to glance at the dead soldiers before he moved on.

It was not long before he came to the edge of the camp. "Move and I'll slice your throat." The gruff voice was expected, Lex did not flinch. He slowly turned around to see his quarry; the aging man's gray hair stood almost on end, and his black eye patch covered his left eye. There was a scar extending down his left cheek.

"Are you Luis?"

"What's it to you?"

"Are you Luis?" Lex asked again, this time with added emphasis.

"Yeah, what's it to you?"

"I've come to collect the bounty on your head." This caused the large man to burst out laughing, spittle spraying the smaller man's face.

"You? You're smaller than I am!" The man pointed his longsword at Lex while he continued laughing.

"I may be smaller, but i'm alot smarter. Eryn!"

From the shadows, the small cat leaped at the man's back, her claws sinking into his shoulders and teeth into his neck. The man screamed, but Eryn bit down harder and flicked her head, breaking his neck and killing him.

"Good job."

"He was nasty. I could taste things that i didn't think had a flavor," she whined, rubbing the back of her paw along her tongue.

"The taste'll go away eventually. We need to get away without anyone no-"

"There they are! Get them!" The sounds of soldiers mobilizing caused Lex's train of thought to derail.

"Move!" He took off, running quickly through the forest.

"Already on it!" Eryn sped past him, leaping onto a tree branch while Lex swung himself up onto a different one. They remained quiet as the soldiers rushed passed below them, the sound of the armor clanging covering their breathing.

A few minutes later, Lex and Eryn walked away from the forest, heading into the nearby town.
