It's summertime; it's hot. Lora decides to go swimming. She heads over to the local pool and spots a table that (from where she was standing) seems to have noone on it. She heads over and starts to put her stuff down.
"Woah! What the [beep] are you doing?" says a voice.
"What?" Lora replies. "Where are you and what?"
"Down here, under your bag. I'm a leprucuan, stupid! You might wantta check your head, I doubt there's a brain in it."
"Huh? A.. hold on." And Lora shrinks down to the same size as the voice. "I'm sorry. I'm Lora Lexinguburg. And you are?"

Now Lora is weeping terribly loud, but she is trying the best she can to stop, or at least quite down so they do not find her and her new friend. She hears footsteps and hope they pass. When they do not, she whispers, "Run this way!" and somehow manages to run faster than she has ever run in her LIFE far, far away from the evil things.
"I ---- I think we ---- lost ------ them." She gets out inbetween gasps of air. They are in the middle of a very large field with a house not too far away.
