this is your newest vice captain speaking. ^^ (i get why you do that lani! biggrin )
As you might know, lani has diabetes. and since i have met her i have been helping out with the ada. but not very much i might add... (she's been volunteering since she was five!) and, lani, as you might know, i had the girl scout charity yard sale yesterday (saturday), and we made a lot of money! we still have to split it up between the charities that the other girls want to do (i'm trying to convince my mom to just let it all go to the ada cuz the other girls hardly even helped... ugh!) but, right now, we have... let me count it... $137.25 and a bunch of pennies and nickels and dimes... it's not that much, but every cent counts right? you can't expect to get more than that at a yard sale! i was suprised that we got that much! like, every hour, i was making my rounds... meaning that i was asking grammy for another dollar. i got, i think, four dollars from her. and then another dollar from poppop. they were having a yard sale the same time as us... and it wasn't even for charity! but what am i supposed to say? we had it on their yard... well, anyway, have any of you helped out with anything that has to do with diabetes? JDRF (juvenille diabetes research foundation), the ADA (american diabetes association) or maybe something else? let us know! lani you could tell us what you do! (if you want!)

Like Zoey said, I am an active volunteer for the American Diabetes Association. I plan multiple fundraisers during the year and sell beanies and journals door to door. Here's a complete list of all that I do...
Inform others about diabetes
Help pass diabetes legislation
Plan bi-annual Skate 4 A Cure events
Plan Pancake Breakfasts
Work an ADA booth at local events
Make and sell handmade journals
Sell Journals and beanies door to door
Support newly diagnosed children and adults
Make gift bags to help newly diagnosed people
*Soon I will make a diabetes support group in my community! I can't wait!

Lolz! biggrin I'm so bad at writing songs, it's not even funny!
I wrote one about making a difference in the world that's pretty good, but other than that, nothing. I'm horrible at song writing. I'm good at stealing people's songs and finding my own ways of playing them though! biggrin
