Welcome to our Roleplaying sub forum I will be making more sub forums for RP categories. The world of RP's has definitely changed from what it was seven years ago.
To be more precise I want everyone to be completely respectful in this guild to your fellow RP players. Everyone indeed has a unique creativity about them and some are more developed then others. With that being said we should not exclude others because they cannot generate novel posts. Not to mention we all have life outside of Gaia and with that said I want everyone to challenge themselves and increase their levels steadily. I am not a novelist writer, even I can get snagged on formalities but I try to generate an exciting experience that will challenge you all and most importantly entertain everyone.
The Rundown of Role Playing:
When you want to start RP'ing you will need a few things first before diving into the deep blindly. When you RP it is always good to read through the authors story, that will always set the bar of what they are expecting to get to as the players develop and explore the new world. You will now have to find yourself a character that you see yourself wanting to play with and help the story play out. There are so many options, depending on the theme you should find yourself a unique character somewhere among the internet, whether its from an anime, manga, television series, or even real life human pictures that you would find fitting to play as.
Once you find your character keep them around, you can spread out and explore others and just add them to your arsenal for multiple themes. The players will usually have a certain character that they have been using for a really long time, it is sorta like adopting that character and using them as your own design. You will always try and grow, explore whats available that grabs your interest, and try your best. Never be afraid to really get behind your character, you are their puppet master, you control everything and can create who or whatever you want them to be, or even turn into?
Next is usually up in the air. A lot of users will want to decorate their posts, it gives us sorta extra connections to our posting. The decorations are usually just for looks otherwise, it will usually be created with components that you the author want to add in.

+Your picture of your chosen character
+A distinct color,(generally never bright colors) we all squint enough when reading these posts. So blinding makes it that much harder.
+A headline with the name that you created for your character
+A location, A interaction, and if you want a mood
The Rundown of in Character:
Generally the only accepted way players are posting is always going to be from a narrators standpoint. You are technically all writing a book. This is called 3rd person. When you use this style you are to use past tense with everything except of dialog and thoughts. You will use actions and you will never use *asterisks* to show actions,
EX] James used his powers to grapple the wall
EX2] James grappled the wall
EX3] James began thinking about how he had planned to grapple the wall
EX4] Grappling the wall James began to think
lots and lots of different ways and the more detail and fluff you can add the better, it will increase your sentence size and posts construction.
When you engage in verbal interactions and thought interactions. As your character will talk, it is standard to put it in "bold" and surround the dialog with quotations, "..." so whomever your interacting with sees it among your actions. As for making your character speak in their head, "it is standard to use the italics button," then resume.
EX] James looked at the girl and spoke quietly, "Hello my dear, I'm a vampire"
EX2] As he stood still his mind wandered, "I hope this girl isn't afraid of vampires" he looked down.
EX3]"You look afraid.. is it because I am a vampire?" he asked the girl and frowned
These are the real basics for becoming and RP player. Before you know it you will be increasing your size and creativity and then you will be posting novels and long amounts of descriptions. Always be creative, and writers block is ok try to improve and do not bite off more then you can chew. Most importantly have fun with this world of RP'ing.
