eek So the main question here is, does the image, looks, status, ect. mean more than the music. Meaning, reputation wise and looks wise. Leave comments only on this subject. People such as the latest stars on the rise, or those who have been apart of huge networks and/or controversy.

NO!
Not to me, anyway. If I'm going to LISTEN to music, I'm not going to pay attention to how the artist LOOKS, status or otherwise. I never watch the original music video anyway. For me, what really matters is the music. How it sounds, language, message, etc. I try not to let personal bias against any one band/artist get in the way of that.
My friend, on the other hand, is different. I remember we were playing Guitar Hero once, and I suggested the song Beat It by Michael Jackson. Without even first listening to the song, she said no. He's a child molestor, why would she want to listen to HIS music?
I don't think the song itself is half bad, by the way.

If they sound good then I'll listen, if they don't I won't. Simple as that.
Plus I feel that bands sound worse in live concerts because they are with out the aid of the recording studio which helps make the songs sound better.

Of course looks dont matter (well to me) for example the only reson girls listen to jonas brothers is because they like how they look they dont care if the song sucks i mean c,mon!!! i only care about the music thats it!! i dont care if he is bald (im talking about "Daughtry Chris") i dont care if his name starts with nickle (im talking about "Nickleback") i dont care if they are random (im talking about "Panic At The Disco") i only care about the music (no i don't even care if a chick in a band is hot either) scream scream scream whee whee whee xp xp xp sweatdrop 3nodding
