The first magical creature that comes to my mind is....DRAGONS! I am a long-time fan of Anne McCaffrey and her dragons. I've enjoyed reading the Eragon series, as well.

My favorite mythical creature is one I made up myself called a Ramelephant. It's a mix between a rat a mouse and elephant.
