But I only have enough money for one game. Which version has the best mix of songs? And don't say Extreme 2, I want a way to get songs that doesn't involve playing the same song on Light 1239108 times.

Max 2 I would say has the strongest user appeal here in the states as there is a very good song list to choose from and Nonstop to have fun with. One of the last mixes holding on to the arcade style unlock system but its fairly easy to unlock stuff with two players.
