I met Cliff’s sister today. Her name is Sabra and she had very colorful hair. I told cliff that I wanted to make my hair have lots of colors in it but he said not till I’m 18. Sabra said she’d convince him to let me do it earlier. She brought me a bag of toys and things and this book is one of them. The cover looks like metallic ocean blue scales and it shines in the light. There is a bunch decorated lined pages inside so I can write in it. She even bought me this weird pen with feathers sticking out of the top. I think it looks kinda stupid but I didn’t tell her that. I’m using a black pin I borrowed from Cliff.
Later we watched this movie about a man and his factory of sweets. She said she was craving sweets now and that we should go get ice-cream. I had one called ‘rocky road’. I don’t know why it was called that, but the marshmallows in it tasted good, so who cares? Then we walked around and looked in the shops. Cliff bought me this red bow with a diamond eyed skull on the top that you wear in your hair. Sabra said it was cute but I think it looks……dangerous? My hand hurts from all this writing and I’m not sure why I should be writing in this book but Sabra said it is good for clearing your mind and recording memories and “terribly fun to laugh at later.” She said she had found Cliff’s diary once, but then he got mad and told her it was a journal, not a diary, that diaries were for girls. I guess I have a diary now. Maybe I’ll call it a journal, it does sound less girly.
