"I don't drink... wine." With these words, Bela Lugosi launches us into the dark, steamy world of the vampire. Vampires themselves have been around for generations, starting with the popular classic, Dracula by Bram Stoker. While the vampire figure has evolved to fit modern society's criteria, I believe that it's time we re-visit the past, and delve into the lives of a more traditional vampire with a story of our own.

This RP would be a bit more constricted than other RP's, only because I have a beginning of a plot in mind. There are two main characters, but I've left a lot of wiggle room in case we get a lot of players. I only have a few rules:

1. No cussing. I know, a lot of people swore their heads off back then, but you can find better words than d**n or a** or whatever to speak your mind.

2. Write out your actions. Do not say *writes in this star thing*. That's both boring and pointless.

3. Please make an application for each character you introduce. There will be a lot of room for original characters (as I said before), but we can't have a Darth Vader during a traditional vampire story, now can we?

4. The two main characters are as follows:
Vladmir-- the vampire (not nessicarily the villian)
Katrina-- the girl (not nessicarily the heroine)--Taken by CoolMoonGoddess3

5. New Rule (sorry for adding it so late): You may post more than once in a row. Please limit your posts to only two to three times so that the other RP players can develop their plot also.

Sample application:

Character: Katrina Vassing

Description: Human. About 5'6" with long, straight, midnight black hair. Eyes are a dark brown, almost black, and are framed by dark eyebrows, features common to the people of the Transylvanian village where she lives. A typical girl of the late 1800's, very submissive to a man and unquestionable. Radiates innocence, but tinged with darkness inside her. Something she doesn't want to reveal about herself...?

Character: Elizebeth Valona
Played by: Tefezia
Apperance:
User Image
History: Elizebeth was the last of her family. She was about twelve years old when the party raided her house that night. They came in biting and ripping everyones throat out. She was bit on the leg and crawled under one of the beds. With so much blood everywhere, the raiders never noticed, that she was still alive. This is where her story begins.

PostPosted: Sun May 10, 2009 10:14 am

Elizebeth was scared to make a sound. She continued to stay under the bed even though her leg felt like it was burning as the blood seaped out onto the floor to mix with the rest. The pain began to get worse and it made her black out.

Elizebeth woke still under the bed in the same spot. The pain had eased and she felt weird and strange all over. Her eye sight had improved as well as all her other sinces. Then she remembered that she was bitten. She looked at her leg and there was nothing there. But everything else was the same in the room. As she crawled out from under the bed she noticed that the blood was dried and flies were swarming the bodies. She found herself outside in the dark escaping from the smell of decay and rot. However it only took a second for her to be outside of the house.

She didn't know what had happened to her, but she was unsure as to what happened. Confused she ran and ran and ran. Elizebeth found herself in a abondoned house seventy miles away from her home. She wanted to cry but she began to realize she was hungry. Although she wasn't hungry for regular food. What was wrong with her. She crawled into a corner and stayed there and waited.

Katrina walked down the darkened path of her Transylavian village. It was late, too late to be out on All Hallow's Eve. 'Very close to midnight in fact,' she thought, as she quickly made the sign of the cross. Why had she forgotten to wear her rosary tonight...?

"Katrina..." a voice hissed in the shadows. Katrina turned, peering through the inky black night. No one was there. A leaf skittered across the path, making her jump.

"Who-who-who's there?" she stammered, but recieved no answer. Cautiously, she turned her body but kept her eyes focused behind her. If anyone was sneaking up on her, she would know.

Another noise, like that of a cat on a rooftop. 'It's nothing,' Katrina thought to herself, her heart pounding wildly in her chest. 'Nothing at all. You know the nosforatu shouldn't be out yet...'

"Hello, Katrina." A voice made the eighteen-year-old scream. Standing before her, as if made of the darkness itself, was a man. He was tall, glorious, powerful. An air of command surrounded him, though he looked to be no more than twenty years of age. His skin was a ghostly pale colour, like that of a corpse.

"My, my, Katrina, you've certainally grown up to be a fine young woman. I almost didn't reconise you. But then again," the strange man stepped towards Katrina, "I should be able to recognise what is truly my own, should I not?"

Katrina wanted to back away, to run, to scream, ANYTHING! Anything was better than this torture. Or the torture that was to come.

"Please," she begged, her voice cracking from fear. "Please, I'm a good girl. I can't--" With tears forming, she cut off. Suddenly, the strange man grabbed her wrist, locking it in his iron grip. But Katrina had expected that, and was about to cry for help when the man's other hand covered her mouth.

"Not a sound, Katrina Vassing. Not a sound," he hissed in her ear, his rotten breath and hands that smelt of rotting flesh made her gag. "I won't kill you. Presently. I have plans for you, my beauty." His hands slid across her bodice, lightly fingering the delicate embroidery. Katrina struggled, and the man-monster-tightened his grip.

"One word, one noise out of you, girl, and I will murder your whole village. Think of it: your whole village's existance is on your decision. Submit to me, and I will spare their lives. Refuse, and you can only imagine the horrors I will enflict upon them."

Katrina stopped struggling instantaniously. She thought of her friends, her family, and every part of her village that now seemed to be slipping from her grasp. The monster chuckled darkly.

Stroking her hair with his dead fingers, he murmured, "Smart girl," and lifted her above his shoulders. Like a sack of potatoes, he slung her over his back and started to run. And oh, how he ran.

He ran like the wind, only faster. The houses, the trees, nothing seemed to bother him as he jumped from rooftop to tree top. As he turned to the mountains, Katrina finally worked up the nerver to scream; however, it was too late. The village was long out of sight, with Katrina and her captor climbing up the great Transylvanian Alps.

Katrina could not see it, but her captor was carrying her farther and farther away from the village, and closer and closer to what looked like the shadowy figure of a castle, built out of the far side of the snowy, desolate mountains.

Elizebeth sat curled up in the corner of the abandon house, much like a shack. For it was more of a shack than an actual house. The cobwebs flowing in the wind around her face. She tryed to calm herself, but it didn't seem to work.

She was begining to get hungryer ever minute that went by. She was starting to her sounds of a heart, but it was distant. Elizebeth new she wasn't suppose to hear sounds of someone elses heart when nobody was anywhere near. The thudding of the heart came closer and faster.

Elizebeth closed her eyes hoping she was imagining all of the thudding. But it only made her concentrate on that much more. She didn't want to hurt anyone, so she pulled herself up and took of running towards the thickets of the forest. There she hoped that she wouldn't be hurt or hurt anyone else.

It was a while before she found her a small little canopy of bushes that looked like it would be okay for her to stay in. Elizebeth looked arround to make sure nobody was watching her. Feeling a bit safer from humanity, she climbed inside the thicket and curled back up into a ball.

She wanted to sleep, but she couldn't. Why wasn't she able to sleep, she should have been exasted from all the panic and suffering that she had been through. Oh and that pain that shot up through her leg from the bite that should still be there. She took a deep breath and could smell the dirt and trees that maple sap poured out of.

As she continued to hold herself, she finally relaxed and rocked herself into a metitative state. Slowly rocking back and forth, back and forth. She wished she knew what had happened to her and why she was still alive from the raiders that attacked her home.

Elizebeth thought about the raiders that killed her family. Suddenly flashes of verosious beings went through her mind. The blood pouring out of the bodies as the blood dripped from the mouths of the raiders. She concentrated on the mouth, the teeth were not right for a human. Longer shaper, than that of a human.

Then it dawned on her that she was touching her own teeth, they felt just like that of her memory of the raiders.

She had heard stories of vampires in Transivania but was it really just a story. Could this be real?

By the time Katrina and her captor had arrived at the castle, the young girl had nearly froze to death! Her thin dress was decorative, beautiful, but hardly good protection against the bone-chilling cold in the Transylvanian Alps.

Her captor knocked on the old wooden door of the castle. A shadowy figure opened the door, and the man, with Katrina on his back, dashed inside.

"Hello, Master Vladmir," the figure said. The monster whose name was apperantly Vladmir shifted Katrina so he was cradling her in his arms. This gave Katrina a good view of the figure; however, Katrina nearly screamed from the sight!

The figure was a girl. Once beautiful, her skin now looked gray and too large for her face, hanging and sagging around her cheeks but tightening around her yellow, blood-shot eyes. The woman's hands were gray and gnarled, resembling that of an old crone.

"Good evening, Martha," Vladmir replied curtly. "Draw a bath for our new guest. She seems to have frozen from her short journey."

"Master?" Martha asked, a look of fear entering her eyes.

"Yes?" Vladmir replied, obviously annoyed that his command had not been instantly obeyed. "Well, girl, what is it? Speak up!"

"Master, you know Mistress Stephanie will be angry that you've brought another one back. She'll--"

"Enough!" Vladmir thundered. "I will talk to my sister. You, on the other hand, have orders to follow. Now!" The servant girl scampered away. Vladmir lowered Katrina to the floor, where she stood shivering in the damp hall.

"Come, Katrina," Vladmir offered his hand to the girl. "We'll get you out of those wet clothes, and into something more... suitable." He chuckled again, a noise that made Katrina's nerves jump. She backed away, but with a movement unperceptable, Vladmir had grabbed her wrist.

"Now, now, Katrina. You can either come quietly and enjoy your stay here at Castle Dragcu, or I can make your life a living nightmare. Your choice again, yes?"

"Sir, please," Katrina had finally found her voice, "I know your kind must eat, but don't prolong it more than necesary. My people don't believe in unnecesary suffering."

"My kind? And what kind would that be, Katrina?"

"Vampire." There was a slight pause as Vladmir's eyes darkened to match the starless night outside.

Vladmir gave a mirthful laugh. "You are absolutly right, Katrina. And now, it's time for your bath. Come."

Thus, captor and victim walked silently down the halls of the mysterious Castle Dragcu.

Elizabeth sat there pondering rather vampires were just a story from a myth or was this all real. She hestitated while she thought of touching her teeth. Her hand raised up to her mouth and her fingers touched the longated teeth. She stopped breathing for a few seconds as she realized that her teeth were not the same as the other day. Shaking her head back and forth because now she didn't know what to do. She was young and still didn't want this. She never asked for this. But it still happened, and to her out of all people.

She needed answers, and she wanted them fast. The only place she could think of to get the answers was in Transivania. But there was a proplem, she didn't know where she was and how to get there. Elizebeth got up and decided that she needed to move fast to figure out how to find her was there. She knew it was in the north, but that was all.

It was getting close to midnight, and she knew that vampires couldn't be out in the sun. She had to move fast before the sun rose. She took off at a dead run for the closest town to ask someone directions. It was only a few minutes when she reached the town. There were perks of what she had become, like the speed.

As she slowed her pace she noticed some men where still out for the night. She walked up to them and asked, "Hello, can you give me directions to Transivania? I have to find my sister, and that is where she went."

One of the older men looked at her puzzle. He was confused by how young she was and alone. "I don't think it will be a good idea for you to go there. You do know the stories."

Another man spoke up, "If you stay on this road, and keep heading north for another hundred miles you will find what you are looking for." He smiled and nodded his head, "Just be careful, there are tons of dangers."

Elizebeth nodded her head, "Thank you very much, and I will stay careful."

She then started to walk off when the youngest of the men grabbed her arm. She turned to look at him with her beady coal black eyes. Then he let her go, "Watch your back ok, things you haven't ever seen come out of the shadows."

She nodded in understanding and started heading up the road. Soon enough she was out of the town, and then took off like a race car wanting to win the race. Within an hour she found what she was looking for. A huge grayish black castel stood on the other side of the villege. She had made it in great timing, but now was unsure of where to go next.

Walking into the villege she could tell that the people who lived here were on edge. Most of the doors and windows were shut up tight for the night. She could feel the fear that lurked behind every door. She knew that the answers where here, but not in the villege. As she looked at the castle, she noticed that lights were flickering in the windows. A smile came across her face as she realized that was where she needed to go.

Katrina stood shivering as Vladmir looked her up and down. The bath had been finished long ago (the vampire had kindly left the room) and Katrina had been given a beautiful blood-red dress. Still, her hair was wet and the dress was a little too thin for the cold of night. Why did he insist on talking to me out on a balcony? Katrina thought, "he" being her captor. Strange, he doesn't seem to notice the cold...

"I'll be frank, Katrina: you're level-headdedness impresses me," Vladmir's voice broke through Katrina's reverie. "I understand you have your village's... prejudices against my kind. I'm here to show you that these are simply misfounded."

"You lie!" Katrina cried, backing away from the monster. "I know what kind of creature you are! Monsterous, vile, deamonic, heinious" she was on a roll, "pure, absolute EVIL!" Just as her monologue had finished, the moon shone out behind a cloud, its beams reflecting off Vladmir's teeth.

"I'm glad you saw through my facade, Katrina. As your master, I insist I have intelegent subjects."

"Master? You are no master over me!"

"Aren't I?" Vladmir held open the door back to the warmth of the castle. "Do no make me regret calling you intelegent. I own you, peasent." His eyes blazing furiously, he made a move as if to attack her, then decided against it.

"Master?" came a voice from the other side of the door. Martha the servant tenitivly walked out onto the balcony. "It's getting late master. The sun will be rising in a few hours. Shall I...?"

"Yes, of course," Vladmir said, then turned back to Katrina. "Martha will show you to your room now. Tomorrow night, we shall speak again."

Heading towards the castle, Elizebeth was pondering what she should say when they opened the door. The castle was dark and so huge, since she had never actually seen one. Her eyes widen as she walks up to the large wooden door. She starts to raise her hand to nock on it when she could hear others talking in the castle.

Three tapps on the door and a few seconds go by when this tall figure stands there without saying a word.

Elizebeth cleared her throat, "Hum, I need to find someone that can help me....I was bitten." she said very softly almost a wisper.

The tall figure motions her to come into the castle and wait in the foruar. It seemed like forever by the time he came back with another man.

In a deep voice, "I understand that you were bitten?" the man asked.

"I was..was left to die. They came in with these deep blood red eyes, and killed all my family." Tears started to roll down her face as she continued. "One of them bit me on the leg, and I crawled under the bed and stayed there till the pain stopped burning. When I crawled out from under the bed, they were all liveless." She took a deep breath as she tried to control her tears. "I ran and hid until I had no place to go. I ended up here."

"Well, sounds like you had it rough." He smile and motioned, "Take her to a room and get her settled in."

Elizebeth followed the tall man up to the third floor. Walking past all the doors, he opened one on the right side of the hallway that was the last door. The room was huge as she walked into it. Bye the time she turned arround the man had shut the door. She walked over to the bed and sat down.

(Pssst. Tefezia. I'm going to advertise and see if someone will play Vladmir. If no one answers I don't know what we'll do.)

Katrina sat on her bed and cried. Captured by vampires, and soon to become their next victim! Oh, the horror! If she was not completely drained in the first bite, her body would eventually die and become part of the ranks of the Un-dead.

Such was the life she resigned herself to when suddenly there came a timid knock at the door. Katrina opened it, and found herself facing Martha.

"Miss?" Martha asked, obviously afraid of... something. Could it be Katrina? "May I come in, Miss?"

"Alright," Katrina sighed, and stepped aside to let the horrendous looking creature past her.

"Miss, I have come to warn you. The Master is not what you think he is. Truely, he's--"

"I know what he is," hot-headed Katrina interrupted. "You can't persuade me to think differently. Did he send you to tell me this would be my last night?"

"No, Miss. I came on my own accord." How strange. Servants never did anything on 'their own accord'. "I came to warn you that the Master is not like others of his kind. He is more vicious, more deadly, more horrible than even the most evil monster can imagine. Keep your wits about you, Katrina Vassing."

Martha turned to go, but Katrina quickly called out, "Wait! How is it that everyone here knows my name?"

Martha gave Katrina a quick glance before answering, "I heard the Master say it. Don't ask me how he knows. Maybe he'll tell you tomorrow. Good morning, Miss."

The vampire servant left the room, locking the door behind her. Katrina turned, and, lacking anything better to do, watched the sun rise and turn the sky from an inky black to shades of orange, pink, and yellow.

character: Emilee DeAlessandro

Small statured female vampire. Emilee has been travelling the world for some time looking for a place that she could call her own, a place to settle down and live in peace despite having been cursed with the need to feed upon blood to survive.

User Image

Emilee lurked in the shadows, her dark eyes seeing much more than most humans see in the daylight. Her dark cloak pulled forward to cover her face. She walked slowly, avoiding humans, even though their scent tempted her so.

character: Miribelle Renard

Miri was bitten then left to fend for herself by a careless vampire. At first she resisted the urge to feed thinking it would make her a demon. As her need to feed grew stronger and stronger her will grew weaker. One night in a small village she massacred almost the whole town. After that she andered around pondering the meaning of her new life, eventually coming to terms with her blood sucking ways. She is unsure of how old she really is, she has long forgotten what day her birthday falls on. These days Miri tends to think of humans as cattle. She considers herself an effecient hunter, and fighter.
User Image
Miri stalked through an allyway looking for a tasty treat, she stuck her nose into the air. Sniffing out her next meal, she was now headed toward the most populated part of the town. She peeked into window after window, searching for the perfect meal. A good looking young man was walking up behind her, she could tell by the sound of his foot steps what he meant to do. The man grabbed her around her waist he was actually trying to defile her. In one fluid movement quicker than the human eye could follow she used her sharp fingernail to slice his wrist bring the man's wrist to her lips she sucked the wound until there was nothing left in the man's body. He slumped lifelessly to the ground as Miri wiped her mouth clean and disapeared into the darkness.

Emilee's sharp eyes caught the movements of another Vampire in the shadows. 'Murdress..' The word hissed in her own mind. She smelled the kill, felt the other one's satisfaction.

She had made her way to the square of the town, standing in it's heart she knew they were not alone. No, another powerful one, and several more weaker ones were near. She closed her mind to them, they were young and would not understand her ways.

Emilee paused, she scanned the buildings for weakness and flaws, anywhere that would give her shelter from the dawn that would approach soon. She found what she needed in the cellar of a nearby house, the smell of death surrounded the home, the family had grown ill and died, boarded up in their own home to prevent their disease from spreading. She entered the cellar and began to explore.
