it's been...uh......9 months...almost 10 at UPS...i think. i don't really pay attention except for waiting to see if i make anything in Brokerage at the end of each month. last month i made 0$ le poo.
both of the sales lead i entered were rejected when the credit check was issued. pisses me off.

sales lead?
PostPosted: Tue May 26, 2009 10:28 pm

yes, if you work in Billing, which is where The Curb works. You can have Sale Leads which is to open new Domestic Accounts with UPS, so they can use they're account to pay instead of having credit cards all the time, or check or cash or money orders.
Same goes in Universal (where i work) We have Brokerage Sale Leads which is basically the same but for Brokerage only. It can only be opened for a business. So that when they have packages importing/exporting, they can use the account to pay their Brokerage, you know like taxes, duties and brokerage fees.
it's between they have their own broker, or use our broker. If i make a Brokerage Sales Lead for a company that only wants UPS to clear at the border and it gets accepted and goes through credit check ok i make 4$.
Depending how much they export and import, i can make more.
It benefits me and them since every time they use the account it saves time in customs and can get cleared faster since our brokers are always on site. and if they import and export a lot with us they have a stronger chance on getting discounts.

But you know the account won't change the fact that if the shipper didn't put the correct information or correct documents with the shipment...the account won't change the fact that it's going to get stuck there! Until we get faxes of the correct documentation.

Seriously, you should see what kind of idiotic things people do or say to that matter.

btw, note this that if you are ever going to get married and order your dress from another country, DON'T WAIT TIL THE LAST MINUTE TO ORDER IT!!!!!!!!!!! GOD! people are dumb. lost count of the number of wedding dresses stuck in customs.

when i'm getting married i'm getting my dress in a shop somewhere in new brunswick lol. ain't going to buy a wedding online unless i get a size a little bigger or get it resize.

if ever i'm so lucky, it's probably going to be something from within the country. won't have to worry about brokerage fees, taxes or duties with that.
