It was early morning and Ment wasn't exactly accustomed to being up this early lately, but he had to be. Moanna needed to learn about etiquette, how to approach customers and how to make a sale. She was still rather unsocialized so she tended to spout anything on her mind. Not that it was always a bad thing, but it caused awkward situations every once in awhile. Business couldn't suffer because of an akward situation. So while Olivia was out and about trying to find Adrian some new clothing, Ment was stayed behind, training Moanna.

"Do you get how the cash register works yet?"

"I think so...Luthien does not have one of these at her bed and breakfast," Moanna looked up to the door as she spoke, she could feel someone coming close. A customer perhaps?

"Doe, a deer, a female deer! Ray! A golden drop of sun!" Peter loved going out. It was good to get out of the starchy old institute and see the sun and the clouds and, especially, to get Louis outside. He said looking out the window was enough, but Peter simply refused to accept it. "ME! A name I call myself! Far, a long long way to run!" She howled in her most awful singing voice, glad that the streets were mostly empty at this time of morning.

"Peter, please," Louis begged, straining to look back at her from his wheelchair.

"Silly daddy, silly," Peter sung, smiling brightly down at him. "It's a nice day for singing!" But she knew he was getting bored of just being pushed along, and began silently seeking out interesting things to do. They went out so rarely, there was no way she was letting him get grouchy.

A small, pretty shop happened to catch her eye, and she changed direction swiftly, causing Louis to protest a little. Before he could tell her that he had very few pieces left in his wallet, she had forced his chair into the door, causing it to swing open, and they were inside.

The bell rung violently as the door swung open, causing both Moanna and Ment to look up. In came a girl, pushing along with her a gentlemen in a wheelchair. This was indeed a surprise, considering Ment rarely saw anyone visit the shop who was in a wheelchair. In fact he rarely saw anyone in a wheelchair period.

"Welcome to Solace Scents, sir and lady. What can we help you with today?" Ment gave a smile as he greeted them with his usual sing-song voice.

Moanna gave both of them a nod, and and the best smile she could muster, though despite her best efforts it still looked odd and misplaced on her pale but lovely face.

Louis grunted in a vaguely unimpressed way, looking around and taking everything in. Peter on the other hand was almost painfully excited, seeming to have some difficulty taking in all the sights and smells and two whole new people at once.

"Oh, you sell oils!" She exclaimed in ecstasy, grabbing at Louis' shoulders. "Oh, oh, I've always wanted my room to smell pretty!"

Louis was now looking between Ment and Moanna. He gave in easily with a nod, and turned his attention squarely on Moanna. "Yes, we'll...have a look around." He said gruffly, causing Peter to squeal with excitement.

Ment gave Peter a smile and nodded, "Yep, we sell all sorts of essential oils here. Is there anything in particular you wanted your room to smell like?"

Ment decided to take the reigns on this one as it seemed Moanna was already a little hesitant with speaking. It was only two people and not a large crowd, but he figured she was put off by the girls exuberance.

Moanna starred back and Louis though in a little more surprise that he had decided to fixate his attention on her and not on Ment, who she figured was the more interesting out of the two. Perhaps her awkwardness with people made her all that noticeable even when she didn't speak.

Ment rounded the counter, the tail of end of his bobbing up and down and the distinct smell of Peppermint filling the air, "Maybe you want something food scented? Or florals? Florals are big this time of year."

Louis gave a dismissing gesture, allowing Peter to bound off after Ment. "I like this one smell the cleaning ladies keep in a spray bottle," Peter informed Ment, "I ask them to spray it in my room but they only spray it in the toilets. I don't know what it's called..."

Louis, meanwhile, gave Moanna an awkward smile and deliberately turned his attention elsewhere. He hadn't meant to frighten her.

"They only spray it in the toilet?" Ment questioned, looking at the girl with eyebrows raised. "Well...," He began, "We have some oils that smell like clean things, we can try those and see if you find something there you'd like."

Ment gave Peter another smile, and gestured her towards the back right section of the store, showing her the little rack of clean smelling oils. There was a linen scents, a sterile scent, a citrus scent, something pine based. Perhaps one of those was what she was looking for.

Moanna's eyes grew wide for a moment as his attention shifted away from her. She hoped she hadn't upset him, "I apologize for my awkwardness sir..."

Moanna stepped out from behind the podium the register sat on, her heels clinking against the wood of the floor lightly as she made her way towards him. "My name is Moanna Nolatari. Is there anything I can possibly help you with?"

If there was one thing Moanna refused to allow her social anoxiousnesses to cause is the notion that she was uncivilized, unmannered and rude.

Peter shook her head quickly. "No, it's kind of flowery, and..." She thought hard for a moment. "The bottle is purple, and I'd know it if I smelt it,"

Louis cracked a small smile and returned his attention to her. "No, it's alright really. I just hope I can afford my daughter's...spontaneous ways." He couldn't help but laugh a little, listening to her trip over her own words from excitement. It really had been a while since they'd been out.

"Purple and flowery, huh?" Ment repeated, tapping his chin rhythmically. "Let's try the floral scents. If it's flowery, it might be there."

Ment skittered with Peter across the room towards the floral incense. There were tons of them in comparison to cleaning based incense, or even the food based incense kept close near by. There was at least over a hundred in all and many which were either purely purple or had purple tones in it. Which one could Peter possibly be thinking about?

"She is your daughter?" Moanna asked, looking from Louis to Peter and back to Louis. They did not look the same. Perhaps it was the case like with her and Luthien, where she was still her mother even though she did not technically birth her.

Peter was such a pretty girl, and her personality seemed to sparkle like the stars themselves, at least from what Moanna could see.

"You must be blessed to have such a beautiful daughter," Moanna said. Though her face did not smile, her eyes conveyed the message well enough.

Peter inhaled deeply as soon as they reached the florals, attempting (in vain) to pick out the one scent she wanted among the hundreds of other scents. No luck, and now she was a little dizzy to boot. Through slightly hazed eyes, she examined the rows and rows of scents carefully.

Louis laughed a little, "Oh, it's...it's really a long story. But no, not by blood she's not."

He glanced over to Peter, purely out of habit, then back to Moanna. "I try and do nice things for her whenever I can," He said, "We don't get out much, but she's so patient with me..." It was obvious by the tone in his voice that he regretted quite a lot.

Ment smiled a bit and suppressed a laugh. She reminded him of this kid he used to play with. So strange, and always trying to do things all at once. Ment placed a hand on Peter's shoulder politely to make sure she didn't fall. She looked a little dizzy and the last thing anyone would want is for her to fall and go 'thunk' on the floor.

"Perhaps we should whiff the purple ones, one at a time?" Ment suggested, grabbing for one of the vials with a free hand and taking his hand from Peter's shoulder to open the little cork top off of it.

The bottle Ment had grabbed was a light purple-pink and smelt heavily of plums, he held it close to Peter's face so she could get a whiff of it. Perhaps this was what she was looking for?

"She seems happy," Moanna commented, tucking a tuft of her white cloud-like hair behind an ear, " 'Happiness makes any situation overcomable'. My mother says that from time to time. I supposed it is true in many cases."

Peter nodded, having already overcome the little dizzy spell. She took a deep whiff of the scent, recoiling a little right away. "Ohh, no that's not it!" She said, wishing she could narrow it down a bit more. She had only ever seen the bottle in passing once, however, and was lucky enough to even remember what color it was.

Louis smiled a little, relaxing back in his chair slightly. "That's true, I guess. It seems no matter where she is, she's happy," He said, "It's a shame everyone isn't more like her. Pass off the bad and let themselves get excited without restraint. People might be more happy."

"Not it?" Ment questioned, closing the bottle and placing it back on the stand. This was proving more difficult than he thought it would be. Generally people came in already knowing the name of what they might be looking for, but this girl had no clue and gave only a color and a vague description of the smell.

"People, unfortunantely, aren't always bright stars like she is." Moanna murmured, looking towards Peter and Ment before addressing the witch hat'd boy.

"I think she wants the one of the far left, Ment..."

Ment looked up to Moanna as she spoke, his head slightly cocked to the side. Peering through the line-up he came to the vial Moanna was mentioning. It was very light in color, and when he opened the bottle the soothing light smell overtook him, and he held it close for Peter to sniff. It smelled like lavender, the oil Olivia liked to put on her pillow at night.

"Is this it?" He asked, expecting Moanna be right. Was this another of her fine gifts?

Even before it was put to her nose, Peter recognized the smell. It was unmistakable, and smelled even more beautiful as an oil instead of bathroom freshener. "Oh, yes! Wow!" She spun to flash Moanna her biggest grin. "That's amazing!"

Louis rolled his eyes with a lightheaded smile, quickly producing his wallet. "That is amazing, dear. How did you know the one?" He asked Moanna politely, digging around inside the small pouch. He quickly counted the pieces he had with him.

Moanna smiled slightly, it was a little more natural than her previous ones but still had a forced quality to it. Moanna wanted to play it off as a guess, but something about this gentlemen gave her the impression she wouldn't get away with saying so as easily as she would if it were just Peter in the room.

Ment was already speculating that it had to do with something more than just dumb luck. After all he had already seen some of her abilities with his own eyes and in HD clarity to boot. He starred intently at Moanna for her answer.

"My mother owns a cleaning business and the most frequently used cleaners she has are either lavender, lemon or pine scented. I figured since she said it was purple it'd be the lavender one..."

Perhaps that answer was a bit more believable than what the truth really was, at least to Peter and Louis. Ment on the other hand knew differently, though he didn't seem to react so.

Ment gave Peter a smile, "We're glad to have helped you find what you're looking for."
