I love the idea of To Write Love On Her Arms. But lately I've been hearing a lot of stuff about how not all the money goes to what they say it does. Yes I know that they must take some to get by while touring, but I've heard that not even 70% of the money goes to helping people with depression, and so on. I can't say that this is true, but I've heard this from so many people.

Also, I was on socialvibe. And someone made a post about a video they had made for TWLOHA. It was graphic, but factual, and it showed how harmful cutting and depression can be. He posted it as a comment on their page. Later he got a message saying it had been deleted because it was too graphic and wasn't what TWLOHA was about. But why would they delete that video if it was telling the truth. It could've shown people how bad it really was and then they would want to help.

Don't get me wrong but I think that TWLOHA is just changing from what it used to be?

What do you think?

(sorry if this offended anyone..)

I think that you shouldn't focus on what you heard. Honestly, the best idea is to ask somebody from the organization.
And, yes, even if a lot of money doesn't go toward those places, much of it is needed to let people know of the organization. This organization is the first step for many people toward recovery, so you can't say that it's not fair that they get money to promote themselves.

Yea that's true.
But the organization says that more than half of it goes to rehab centers, etc. But they use more on tour than they do on rehab centers, and you're right it does promote them.

ya well....
if they really cared they would put more to the rehab center.
It doesn't seem fair that they would pretty much over look helping.
I had to go to a counselor about my depression.
My mom had no idea why, but she took me.
Now i don't go because I never schedule any conferences.
My mom found out all this I think but I'm not sure.
If so then that would explain very well why my dad holds his tongue instead of exploding.
Though he is exploding more.
*sigh* I don't cut...but I have...and I did like it then...but I don't like it now...

just one more sorrow, another sin...

I remember the first time I stumbled upon TWLOHA, it was completely different than it is now. It was much more based around helping people instead of just getting the word out. Well, that's how I view it anyway.
