Yeah, i personally have an unusual opinion on emo and the steryotype that revolves around it.
-when i hear the word emo from a freind i think of bands and music, hot topic and my freinds, of people who are amazing to me. i think of people who express their feelings, of artists, of creativity.
-when i hear a stranger say it, especialy if they say it with a rude tone, i think of the hell i went trough in middle school, i think of being told stuff that was completly out of line.. like that ii should just end it allready, by killin myself. i think of being isolated, of pain. because when someone says it, im afraid they mean it by the deffinition that media has portrayed it to be, and cause it to seem and appear to be something it absoulty is not.
-hollywood and myspace killed emo. i dont like the idea of saying Fob is or isnt emo, to me i would quietly agree that it was, but only because i think of my 'happy emo' when i listen to them, so its a very personal opinion, then it becomes so easy to tell me im wrong. its an opinion not a fact, disagree sure, but dont tell me im stupid for beliveing in something.
-nobody has the same deffinition for it, EXCEPT the 'mean people' its like they truly belive cutting is a fad for kids into deep music and skinny jeans. we are who we are, accept us or dont, but dont shove us away and then push us down when we try to stand, they dont know how we feel and when we get bashed we simply try to stand up for all that we know, and when we are told otherwise.. when im told otherwise, i feel helpless, how do i fight this battle when theyve already one? they have an army of men with swords, im just a single 15 year old girl with a dagger.
No Longer Alone
a place where teens that struggle with depression/emotinal pain can come together and talk about how they feel freely =]
