Ok, so don't you hate it when the judge you get is a total *@()$
I know I do. Well Fullerton gets to judge the Katella comp. tomorrow and I don't think there will be that problem this time (grrrr, they're lucky we're nice blaugh haha, jk)
But it should be really fun. What do you think about some of the judges you've had before?

I was doing sit ups once and during the rest position I wiggled my fingers that were on my shoulders. The judge DQd me because I dont know why.

Went to a drill meet before. At a local Army JROTC.
Almost all of their judges were from the Army branch, recruiters and the like.
My school is very prestigious in the area and the other schools know that. Our NJROTC is one of the best around. and quite frankly, the school hosting the drill meet really isn't... it shows with their awards.

anyways, we went down there, did damn near perfect, and didn't win squat because of bogus charges like cheating.

HOW CAN YOU LOOK AT YOUR PALM WHEN YOUR HAND IS ALWAYS IN A FIST?!?!

the judging was crooked, the competition was crooked, the host school won first place in all events.

all in all, we got jipped, waste of our time and money...

biggrin during all the "competitions" that I went to during my kids JROTC, all of the judges were military personel, recruters, active duty officers, etc. not the school instructers(my spelling is bad tonight, so pls forgive)!

Never been to a drill comp yet. Our cores too small and not enough people participate to have a full on drill team right now. Next year we're getting more cadets so that could help.

When I go to competitions, i always have my team bring extra uniforms to change in before we go on because the judges always gig us on how nice and fine our uniforms are. not to be mean and all but it really doesn't make sense because its hard to fix up pa uniform that has just got in from the dry cleaners and fix a gig-line that is already straight. it also kind of sucks because our jrotc does everything old fashion like we to do things plane and simple, straight regulation things. When we went to pacific regionals, we were 7 points off from getting at least 5th place because we were not as fancy as all the other army, air force, navy, etc. teams there.

Ditto, my school is among the best on the east coast and virtually untouchable in the tristate area by all the schools but Rahway, Mcnair, and Francis Lewis (who are national champs.) As far as the palm thing goes, someone probably had their hand crooked, meaning that they had their palm side out.

only one person calls the commands, hands were in a fist, what the heck could you be talking about? Have you seen how the Navy salutes? and wouldn't there be too little writing to fit all the commands in a competition on a palm? if you mean only ONE person, like someone in the platoon was palm out (which would look hella stupid) and the platoon commander was reading the commands on the persons hand?!?!?! that's not even 'No' that's HELL NO!
with your hands by your hips when you march and constantly swinging and not to mention the flanks and obliques! there is no damn way you could possibly cheat like that! Let's face it, them was some CROOKED judges yo'!

You didn't say they accused you of reading your hand, you just said that the palms were out. I know what its like to be cheated though. Last year we almost got disqualified because they said our rifles didn't have rubber butts, when they clearly did. It was an easy accusation to disprove, but still.
