In light of the recent outbreak I would like to remind all ILONK members to please be careful and clean. If your using a public computer (like a computer lab) please wash your hands or use sanitizer. Also, cover your cough and don't put your hands to your mouth or eyes. Just because you can't get other Gaian members sick, doesn't mean I don't want you all to be safe.
Swine Flu Symptoms include: Fever (Over 100 F) Cough Sore Throat Body Aches Chills Fatigue And sometimes -Vomiting -Diarrhea
Good Health to you All

A. I'm so sick of hearing about swine flu. The only reported death in the US so far is of an 18-month-old baby, yet tragic, babies immune systems are no where near as strong as a teenager of adults. B. You have more of a chance of surviving swine flu than you do just the normal, plain old flu. C. Thanks for the concern, however.

Dunno if its important anymore, but... Apparently its called the "Northern American Influenza." Something about people being to paranoid to eat pork caused them to change it.

Eating pork isn't going to cause you to get swine flu. Once the pork is cooked to a certain degrees, if it WAS infected, it wouldn't be anymore. It's much like salmonella poisoning when referring to chicken meat. As soon as that chicken reaches a certain temperature, the risk of getting infected / poisoned is gone.

You have more of a chance of surviving swine flu than you do just the normal, plain old flu. C. Thanks for the concern, however. I'm mostly scared for my 6-month old son. So if more people get sick, this will spread faster and increase his chances of getting sick. I'm just a paranoid mom gonk

Thank you. I've been trying not to think much about it though. Luckily the news has stopped talking about it.
