Not gourmet, but super easy to make and super quick! The ingredient amounts aren't exact, since I don't really measure them, but it's hard to go wrong with this one.
Baagaa's Super Easy Veggie Pizza Margherita!
Ingredients
- 1 Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough
- 1-2 handfuls shredded basil
- 3 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 2-3 handfuls of shredded Parmesan cheese
- 9-12 slices sharp provolone cheese*
- salt & pepper to taste
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (or as directed on the dough package, depending on which kind you get). Unroll the pizza dough onto a cookie sheet.
2. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top until the dough is evenly covered, then layer with provolone slices. Tear up provolone if the slices are too big and cover the dough as evenly as you can.
3. Layer on sliced Roma tomatoes and shredded basil, top with freshly ground pepper and salt to taste.
4. Bake until cheese is completely melted and slightly browned, maybe 12-20 minutes. The dough should be fully cooked and not sticky!
5. Slice and enjoy!
* A good, stronger flavored provolone really makes a difference, in my opinion! BelGioioso is one brand that makes a sharper provolone that works well.
