NOTE: i'm not sure if i'm allowed to post lyrics in this subject of poetry but i suppose you could see it as a prose. If i'm breaking the rules, i'm very sorr and i'll take it down immediately =] Thank you for your time.
These are the lyrics to a classical piece my workgroup has performed. Although the lyrics hold a stigma of regret and pain, the singer sung it sickly sweet and melodic like a lulluby. The words are simplistic are descriptive so it really sounds like it's being sung to a child.
Life without love
If you close your eyes and shut your heart,
You’ll never be hurt,
You’ll never feel pain,
You won’t be like me and for that you should be grateful.
Because I am wretched,
A broken heart,
An unfinished symphony.
Look at me now!
Can you bear to keep looking?
A repulsive sight like mine,
The consequence of love,
Don’t I make you afraid?
Can you learn to love a nightmare?
What I want to keep, I have lost,
What I want to forget; haunts me till death,
The day you walked away,
The day you said good bye,
I’m glad I’ll never open my eyes,
I’m glad I’ve shut my heart forever,
I’m glad I’ll never live again.
