This is part two of another thread. As always please ask for permission if you wish to use anything you see. I'll put one or so hand colored sketches in. Recently I've begun scanning in works and editing in MS Paint, this is a pain due to "garbage pixels" I need to switch to photoshop but I love doing things the hard way. The first drawing is GRAPHIC

Oh I love the Cookie Monster photomanipulation and Batman...poor guy, I know just how that feels (remembers all to well when her cell phone went of at the wrong time when living in Lawrence) xd

Oh I love the Cookie Monster photomanipulation and Batman...poor guy, I know just how that feels (remembers all to well when her cell phone went of at the wrong time when living in Lawrence) xd

I felt it was a great photo for a personal ad "Me like cookies.... un... hot tubbing.... romantic cookes!"

Yeah, I always get calls when I'm in the shower. I'm sure at least once Batman had the Bat signal appear at an inopportune time.

Initially there were plans of launching a humble web comic- but alas I'm going to be so busy with work-school-etc I'm not sure how I'll fit it in since my bad habit for perfectionism causes me to be sllooooowwwww about creating panels.

How do you manage to get such polished looking comics out- does it take a super long time or do you just have a knack for quick brilliance?

hmm... for me one page of the comic that I'm doing takes between 1-day to 3-days to finish .. that's if I work an average of 4 hours a day on it.
Also depends if I'm in the mood to do it.

Well about the way I do it.. I use photoshop and a drawing tablet.
I draw really super fast rough sketch of the story line on one layer.
On a 2nd layer I redraw everything carefully and then delete the sketchy layer .. this is how I do it.. more or less ! stare

we could try something if you want.
you could roughly send me the story line and/or a rough sketch of the comic and I'll finish it up smile .

I feel better knowing it takes you time and hard work as well.

What I do is I draw it out on cheap paper, outline in sharpee ultra fine, then erase the pencil outline. I scan the outline into the computer and open it up in MS Paint. I save the file as monochrome bitmap which leaves only the outline. I select all, copy, and paste the outline in a new window where I can color it in.

It takes me hours- especially if I get picky with the coloring. I really love to shade and such so it can take me 5 or so hours of just doing the coloring.

the problem is with paint.
the monochrome mode makes the line art edges too crispy.

but 5 hours is a decent amount of time for coloring, you are not really taking that long smile
