You would never have known it was there if you looked for it or asked about it... it's just one of those things you come up to purely on accident.
There are those who remember visiting, but could never be able to tell you how to get there... or where it is.
But they know it's there...

Somewhere along a road leading to no place in particular is a lonely train platform with a destination name of "Somewhere Between" on it's sign post. An unusual spot that owns no location on any map. Across from this odd place is a two story, old-world-styled house with pitched roof, green shutters, and a worked iron sign hanging above the door clearly naming the place:

~*'Guildenstein's Inn'*~

Guildenstein had found this place a long while ago... and found that he ended up here many times, despite the location's strange ability to not be found. It was just his luck I guess. But he decided to adopt the old house, and with his friend Rosenkrantz, they built it up into a decent roadside Inn.

They found that their venue saw more than just the occasional lost wanderer; in fact many people of different ranks and races somehow would find themselves here, and the most bazaar events would happen! Like the whole Inn being completely overrun by chibified versions of the occupants running a muck! A snowboarding incident that avalanched and occupied half the building! Or the frantic chase for the alarm clock that a summoner accidentally brought to life! Or the time the door was blown clear off it's hinges when- well... you get the picture!

So... If ever you find yourself lost at a train station "Somewhere Between" your destinations, stop by Guildenstein's Inn, where "The craziest thing happened-" is our everyday...

~~~~~
Guildenstein leaned against the door frame, looking out along the clear horizon. It was another "slow season" but he knew full and well that only meant a "storm" was on it's way.
Suddenly he saw something that clearly stated something new: A smoke stack. There was a train coming! How rare! He ran inside and readied the book for a new occupant. It was habit for the Train to drop off passengers, claim it's the last stop, and then disappear all together until it decides to come back.
He readied himself at the desk with a wide smile and waited...
Rosen waited outside the door. Should he enter once more? It's been so long since he last came here... and last time he nearly came out as "Frozenkrantz"...
He chuckled at the pun of a name. "Oh well... if I don't... I'll never hear the end of it..." He turned back toward the trainstation behind him. "Wonder if they'll kick the other passengers off too..." he commented. Then, he turned back and headed back into the Inn...
"Hey Guilden... um... I'm back?"
Guilden's grin faded quickly at the sight of his old friend. "You again? Huh... guess it is my luck... well, I don't charge friends... I just make em' work! You remember where the laundry room is right?" he said, leaning back and opening up a comic that was hidden under the quest book.
He stopped for a second and opened the pages out to Rosen. "Hey check this out... These two here... Jacob and Andy... funny pair eh? I think Charlissa's a hot one if ya ask me! ..." He reads further. "Whoo! Go Ace!"
With a heavy sigh, Rosen walked past Guilden, reading the title of the comic. "WildARMs? Really now... what would the guests think seeing you read that stuff!" he made his way into the Inn Keeper's quarters and looked around.
It was as it always was when he and Guilden started this crazy place. In fact his bed was still as he left it... needed dusting though... and judging form that... so did the rest of the place. He heaved another sigh and trudged on to the supply cuboard and began housekeeping duties...
"And again..."
A young girl about 18 walks up to the Inn, very confused. She steps thru the door and trips over her own feet and drops everything. She quickly scrambles to gather her things and she looked up to see two strange Men staring at her. She dropped everything again and scratched her head.
"Um I'm Gwendolyn, I seem to be a bit lost. I think I jumped the wrong train. Oh... well not jumped, but uh... you know got on the wrong train. Okay, it sounds bad anyway you say it, but you get the idea. Anyway, I was wondering if I could get a room?"
She looked around and frowned a little.
"You know, this place is dustier than a Dracula's day room!"
A light went on her head, and she had a funny look on her face when she was concentrating. Like it was a hard thing to do.
"Hey, I actually wasn't headed anywhere in particular. I'm kind of don't have any jobs or adventures going on right now. Can I be of assistance? Maybe give it a woman's touch or whatever, the place I mean?"
She turned ten shades of red again.
As you get a closer look at her, she looks like a younger and possibly hotter version of Charlissa from the comic. What are the chances of that?
"Oh all the hell hole's I've ever been in" A large man standing about 6'5" walks in, his build is firm as moves carrying a single suitcase. He wore a white trenchcoat that hung just above his ankles, a blue hawaiian print shirt, white jeans, and a pair of white army boots. His eyes were hidden behind dark sunglasses and he looked at his watch. "This is definitly one of the better ones." he had a soft english accent that seemed to come across as pompous.
He had shaggy chestnut brown hair that looked as if it had seen better days and a pale complextion. He smirked at Guilden but felt his eyes drag over to the only woman there. he gave her the once over and shook his head.
"Damn, about a hundred years too late." He walked to the registry. "I need a room. that damn train disappeared."
*Gwen smirked at some inside joke she had thought of in her head and then let a little giggle. She finished gathering all her things and walked up to the counter as well.*
"So. Is there anyone else in this town?"
"Oh, well I guess that answers that question." She smiled brightly at the new stranger and then turned casually back to the counter, waiting for a key.
Guilden remained silent, and kinda stunned. He knew Rosen got off the train... but didn't expect the rest. He quickly twisted around and called to the back: "ROSEN! Get your rear in gear! Rooms 1, 2 and 3 need to be cleared!" Just as quickly he turned to the three.
"Welcome to Guildenstein's Inn, at Somewhere Between! Wonderful to have ya here!" He begins signing up the occupants. "As for your population question... there are about... five residents at the current moment."
He smiled as he let the thought sink in to the rest of the group.
Himself, Rosen, the tall man, Chamonde, and Gwendolyn... all five present and acounted for.
"Just sign your names right..." He looks down at the book... the comic book he had open... then swtiches it out for the real book. "...here please!" He turns and grabs a handful of keys. "Rosen will have the place cleaned up for you all in no time! The kitchen is to your right, the stairs to the rooms to the left!"
As they all look around, they find the wall behind Guilden covered with the cubbies for any mail (if there ever was any), and a large corkboard with many, many photographs posted. These photos have images of previous occupants, some in mid-action (there had been some fights), and many more had recordings of the disasters that had happened to the Inn (one photo is even scorched at the edge), but all were posted with a sense of treasured memories.
*Gwen snatches the comic with a grin.*
"What's this? WildARMS? I didn't know you were the type to read such things."
*She gave a wink to Guilden and then started flipping thru the comic.*
"Well, this is all so very entertaining and steamy, especially toward the end there. That was pretty Hot! Too bad I never met a man like that! Whooo!" *She fanned the comic on her now flush face and then set it back down. She started to look up at the board and was observing the Inn's history.*
Without warning, a bucket flys clear across the room, pelting Guilden right between the eyes, sounding off with a reverberating *KLANG* (Oddly everyone else in it's path goes untouched). Looking in the direction of the throw, they all found Rosen standing, quite ticked, at the base of the stairs. "YOU NO GOOD SON OF A BERMICIAN BARBARIAN! Do you realize how much cra- oh. Sorry about that." He said, directing his attention to the group, his attitude compeletly changed. "The rooms are ready Guilden..." He said to his friend, who was now rubbing the sore forehead. "Oh yeah, and you need to work out a dent in the bucket." He added just before disappering into the back room with the rest of the used supplies.
*Gwen was startled easy by Rosen and went into defensive mode. She tried to stop the bucket, but failed miserably.*
"Not sure what to make of that.... Are you okay?"
*She gave Guilden a curious look and was analyzing his bump with her eyes from where she was at.*
Guilden looked up and gave out a hearty laugh. "Just like old times!" Incidently, there is a photo of Rosen beating Guilden with a bucket... right next to the one with the rampaging Jabberwok.
"I'll be alright... he just needs to get back into the groove of helping me run the place! Although... I don't think he'd mind some help. We'll talk it over dinner!" He gave another broad smile. "STEAK!" He suddenly called out, slamming his fist into the palm of his hand. "Yes.. steak would be perfect!" He handed out the keys and ran out to the Kitchen.
"Well, at least I get a good meal finally." She said with a laugh.
*Gwen grabbed her key and things, then went to put her stuff in her room.*
"Yeah, he did an okay job for it being last minute, but man alive do they need help!" She said in her empty room.
*She put her key in her pocket and immediately left her room. She walked back out to the lobby and stood there twiddling her thumbs and took in her surroundings, fully observing once more.*
