Alaura found herself scrambling to her feet in the edge of the forest. The moon had risen high as the young girl dashed through the long weeds. Her hands stumbled once before grasping the hilt of her swords. She whipped around and with a swish, she pulled the twin blades from her belt. Alaura stood strong and awaited her attackers. The blades she held glisened in the moonlight, her eyes fighting back the fear that was rising within her.
Quickly, the group of men burst from the trees. Their glares, poised on the girl that stood before them. "Come back here... Little girl." One croaked, twisting his head up and smirking. The pack of bandits slowly drew forward in an attempt to surround her. Alaura cauiously backed up as she saw them closing in.
'I gotta do something...' She told herself, wildly exploring her surroundings. Desperatly, the young girl pulled back her swords and darted forward. She headed toward what seemed to be leader of the group. Her heart beating, her breath short. On one foot, Alaura sent herself into air at the man. She dug a foot into his stomach, forcing him to tumble onto his back. Alaura instantly nailed the tip of her right sword into his shoulder blade before dragging it out and running into the forest.
'Now what? Now what?!' Alaura dodged through the trees as she tried to come up with something. From how she saw it, she was doomed. Maybe if there had been less people, it wouldn't have been a problem, but their numerousy made it made it impossible for just her alone. She couldn't go back for the group was still back there. She couldn't go forward for their camp was just ahead. Nor could she call Keal, he couldn't enter the forest for his recent serious injury. No matter what she did, all seemed to be lose.
