Before °C-ute got their group name the seven girls (without Kanna) performed at Hello!Project concerts as the Hello!Project Kids.
After Tsunku gave them the name °C-ute the group got a lot of attention. In October 2006 their first album was released. After that it was announced that Megumi Murakami will leave the group. Kanna Arihara became a member (she is the only H!P EGG girl). Four indie single were sold at events and they got their first concert tour.
In December 2006 Chisato and Mai were support singers at Morning Musume Mini Album and in February 2007 their long-awaited debut single "Sakura Chirari" was released. In the first week it sold nearly as much as the most successful single of their "rival goup" Berryz Koubou during this time. But that was to expect after so much attention and promotion. "Tokkaikou Junjou" became the most successful single with over 38.000 sold copies in 2007! They won the Newcomer Award 2007! Right now they hold their sales at a constant level!
