Jogging is always good, especially if you can mix in a bit of parkour/free-running.

Amount of training you shoud do depends on your condition you can start with easy program and then add something to it if you like.
Run every of every other day for less than 30 minutes in the morning, before the breakfast. If you are in really good shape then run for 1h or 1,5h. The main thing its not to over do the morning training, it'll weaken your later training durning the day. If you cant run in the morning then walk. The main idea is to activate your metabolism.
Durnig the day/evening you can do anything aerobical... jogging, swimming, bike, rollerblades, soccer, whatever. If you do shadowboxing, you should keep a pace that get tired after a few rounds or there is no point in doing it. That is just my opinnion.
You can add to that some push ups, abs, pull ups, and stuff like that. One possibility is to do this every two or three days but with more repeats, for example 300-700 abs, 100-200 push ups and so on.
Add to that few times a week some weight training or kettlebells and dont forget to train your legs... guys always slack on squats because they just want to train upper body to look pretty. If you want to improve your constitution then do lot of repeats with smaller weihgts. And if you want strenght then less repeats and heavier weights, but be careful this kind of training might make you slower. I thing that it would be more beneficial to do with longer series but that is something you should discuss with your trainer.
Hurdles and jumping and leaps and dashes are all very effective. You could add that to your program.
You should run a lot, almost as much as you can. Few times a week for at least for an hour in addition to morning running.
Once a week keep a day off and eat as much as you like. You can sync your training that you can keep harsher days and some really easy days depending on how you feel and what are the goals in your training. You sould once in a while have a day with just warming up and streching (for 1h) and if possible once a month get a massage.
There's no easy way out. Im not sure if there was any help of this. biggrin

I, for the most part, have to agree with everyone who's posted so far.
May I also suggest jump rope, and music? Sometimes the music can kick start your energy.
Myself, I work at my belt level, and set goals for each one that I plan to achieve. Right now, I'm trying to get to 60 push-ups (consecutive) by the time I get to Purple Belt. (I was never really good at these, so I began working on them awhile ago, slacked off a bit, and had to pick things back up.)
Also, if your school/training hall has an exercise program they run, you can consider adding that into your routine!

I wouldn't suggest outdoor training during inclement weather. Includes snow, rain, cold tempatures. I do recomend a balanced breakfast, then stretch and do 75 push ups (half pushups for me ^^ wink , 75 situps and a good walk around the block.

I recommend lots of stretches and exercises that use your own weight as resistance- push ups, sit ups, tricep dips, side raises etc.
It may sound crazy, but things like Yoga can get you really fit (balancing and stretching done properly can raise your heart rate and strengthen muscles- especially those muscles you forgot you even had!) and with a decent book or dvd you could probably do it pretty well at home.
To be honest though, a good idea would be to go to a couple of classes and then you will be able to do the exercises you have learnt at home with the knowledge you are doing them safely and properly.

i know i talk about wrestling alot and im sorry but. if you wrestle and have a friend that does, then you could
-stretch for 5-10 mins
-jog or do high knees for 10 mins
-leg lifts/ crunches
-up downs, but let urself down, dont just drop on ur chest. i know abouut 3 idiots who broke some ribs doin that during football season.
-squats. but have ur buddy get on ur shoulders, like ur head iin his stomach and your right or left arm in the back of his knees. (if that makes any sense)
-push-ups/honeymooners or navy dives (they're called both)
-then do chairs/ which is basically wen u pretend to be sitting in a chair without the chair and u put ur hands behind your head. back is straight and your butt is down. i know this sounds stupid but pretend u goin number 2 in the woods and u dont want to get any on you. lol
-then you practice takedowns/ pins/ scrambling/ tactics.
-then if u have a punching bag use it but tape up ur knuckles lightly, not like a boxer. because over time you want your knuckles to adjust to the abuse. or u could just use gloves. i dont care what u do. i just dont like golves for some reason. too much restriction of movement i guess
-as kinda a cool down i always lift weights, then put on 2-3 layers of sweats and run for 30 mins- 2 hours
but a little rminder, dont load a bunch of clothes on in hopes of buring a bunch of fat off, the only weight you really burn off with alot of clothes is water weight. i only use alot of clothes so i can make weight for my next wrestling match or drop a weight class.
if your by yourself you cando most of that stuff. i almost never work out with someone else, i just find some poor soul from the wrestling team with nothing to do, and have them come let me practice moves on them. and truthfully 3 minutes of wrestling is better than 20 minutes of running because your using every single muscle in your body and some you hardley use so thats why most wrestlers you see are built like blocks of steel.
