It's easy to love those who love you back, but it's hard to love those who hate you. However, that's what we are called to do. We all struggle to embody this idea; love thine enemies.
We are all enemies of Christ, not one of us seeks after God, and yet, Christ died for us out of love. The issue isn't "Well, I can forgive them if only they will apologize" because we are supposed to do to others as we would have done to us.
A young woman was mugged and beaten badly, causing her to miscarry the child she and her husband had struggled for years to concieve. When she was asked to take the stand and talk about the attack, she sat for a few minutes in silence, praying. When she finally got the nerve up to talk, she locked eyes with her attacker and explained to the court what he had done to her, what his attack had cost her and her husband. Then she put her hand over her heart and took a deep breath and spoke directly to the man "I forgive you for attacking me, I forgive you for hurting my child, and all the days of my life I will pray that God works His love into your heart." The man immediately began weeping and asked the court if he could change his plea to guilty. At his sentencing, he stood and spoke to the couple he had hurt. He apologized profusely then asked if they would come to the prison, and teach him about their God--which they did for the length of his sentence.
Even in the midst of great pain, we have to remember that the patience of Christ is exemplafied by his love.
May your heart be mended by what it heals and may it be filled by what it gives away.

It sometimes hurts a lot too when someone hates you and you just keep loving them and being there for them. You can even be thrown to the curb and kicked at with dirt in your eyes but you have yet to erase the love of that person from your heart. Doesn't have to be exactly someone you love but anyone..

Kirinai It sometimes hurts a lot too when someone hates you and you just keep loving them and being there for them. You can even be thrown to the curb and kicked at with dirt in your eyes but you have yet to erase the love of that person from your heart. Doesn't have to be exactly someone you love but anyone.. Exactly. It's cetainly not the easiest thing to do...but it's what should be done. I think it's the hardest when the person who hates you is somebody you love. It has always been that way for me.

Yeah that's sorta happening to me right now. He kept saying I was an idiot for the way I was acting and I know I was acting wrong before but I wanted to put it behind me and change. I told him no matter what I'd always be there for him and he never replied. Dunno if it was from shock or if he thinks I'm still an idiot..

Sometimes guy simply want a clean break from a relationship, no matter how much the girl wants to change and fix things. It could be a matter of the age-group. He could just not believe you'll change...you never know. The fact is, if he doesn't want anything to do with you, you're better off with a guy who does. Never, ever, be with a guy who is with you out of mercy or pity...it's a BIG mistake!

Just know that if someone really loves you or is your true friend that they will not try to change who you are or try to make you do things you do not want to do. A true friend will love you for who you are and nothing less nothing more. They are the one's who stick with you no matter what, like Christ.
