My favorite movie when I was just a wee snipe. Along with
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, this movie forever solidified the steampunk aesthetic in my mind and irrevocably captured my imagination.
20,000 Leagues leans more toward hard SF while
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is pure fantasy, but one can hardly deny that both are early examples of the genre that has come to be called steampunk.
Anyone else love this movie? Please don't let it just be me, here!
