Looking out the window was just as boring as looking at the blank screen, seeing nothing even though it was supposed to be infinite and vast. As a mechanic, he never cared for space, seeing no challenges in it, only useless rocks people seemed to care about. Then again, Earth was a useless rock at first, so he might be able to find something one day.
The small craft kept moving on, though, despite his thoughts and hurdled toward MD-287, looking like it hung still in space. The rock, though, was a medium class rock as far as asteroids went and held the base he was headed out to go to. Drifting into a crater and slowing for blast doors to move, pulling all the accumulated dirt on its surface with plows, did they finally get the chance to rest. Inside was the insides of a boring looking cylinder, made of armor plating to make it less of a weak point and a pock mark, should they be attacked and the air lock slagged.
Still, it gave him a good feeling to be somewhere not in space so much.
Stepping out with his head pointed toward the first entry way, he let the light gravity keep him on the cat walk that went to the only door. More like a hole in a wall, he thought, just wanting to get some food.
