Happiness is only present... "It's soft..." The words slipped out of her mouth out of habit, but she would have said so even if she weren't acting as a five year old. Deciding it was time to use the whole short attention span thing, despite the fact that she wanted to stay with this man, this warmth, forever, she switched gears in an instant. Shifting her head back from its place on his fur, she stepped back, then began running up the hill towards the gates of her castle. "Race ya home!" came the shout, flying heedlessly over her shoulder. ...where sadness is to contrast.

James chuckled and flapped his wings and flew into the air. He flew next to her and smiled. "Do you wish for a ride my Mistress?" He asked looking at her and wagged his tail.

Happiness is only present... Dismayed that he had caught up so easily, she ignored the question and tried to sprint faster- not exactly an easy task. But soon, the gates of her home were not far in front of her, and she answered his question. "Uh-huh." Forget opening the gate- she wanted to fly. ...where sadness is to contrast.

James smiled and flew closely to her. He landed infront of her and laid down. "Then alow me to fly you M'lady..." He said softly and smiled at her.

Happiness is only present... A smile flickered back into place on her face. Clambering on to James's back, she hugged him around the neck, quivering in anticipation, forgetting to dread her father, who would surely be waiting, prepared to disapprove. ...where sadness is to contrast.

"Hold on to me m'lady..." He said leaping into the sky and flew with both grace and speed. He smiled and flew faster and did a barrel roll as they approtched her castle.

Happiness is only present... Asa's titter turned to a laugh, and she buried her head into James's fur- though she hadn't let on, she was afraid of heights. It was nice though, the feeling of his muscles as they bunched up and relaxed, using his wings to carry them through the air, rhythmic. ...where sadness is to contrast.

James smiled and flew faster. "Are you enjoying yourself M'lady?" He asked looking back atr her. He flew higher up into the clouds. He saw her burrying her face in his fur and smiled. He spred his wings widder and let the breeze carry him towards her castle.

Happiness is only present... Asa looked up- a mistake, she realized, but too late, and the blood drained from her face. But her child mask took over and smiled happily. "Uh-huh!" Though Asa was in shock, the child, her alter ego, looked down to see her father waiting on the doorstep. "Ooh!! Look, It's daddy!!" If she had been able to see better, she would have noticed that his face bore a pained, unhappy expression, but even if she could see, she wouldn't have been paying attention in the first place. ...where sadness is to contrast.

James looked back and started to fly lower so they were only afew feet from the ground. "You are afraid of hights aren't you M'lady?" He asked looking back at her as they flew up to the castle. He looked up at her Father's room and his ears folded back. He landed infront of the castle's door. He laid down for her and his ears folded back.

Happiness is only present... Not as a child, she wasn't. Her head shook. "Uh-uh." Climbing off of him, she stepped to the ground in front of her father, arm wound around James's neck, and beamed up at her father. Pitiless tyrant. "Looky, daddy, I got one with all the things you asked for!" She held out the collar after unfastening it. Her father took it, then gave a strained smile of approval, a line furrowing between his eyebrows as his gaze caught the rose. His baritone voice came, booming slightly, "May I see him as a man?" Asa bit her lip, glancing to James with a begging look in her eyes. Inside, she relaxed, now freed of her fear, and was amused by her own charade of life for a bare instant, but the fleeting amusement was gone the moment after. ...where sadness is to contrast.

"Of course Master..." He said bowing his wolf head to him and his wings wrapped around him. Small flakes of snow began to swirl and sheilded him from view as he transformed. When the snow settled there before him was James kneeling before him. He slowl stook and kept his head down in respect of his new Master. He knew not the rules that he was to fallow but he wished not to take a chance of being beaten for looking his master in the eye. "I hope this form does not offend you Master. If you would like I could remain as a wolf and be a guard." He offered keeping his head down.

Happiness is only present... Her father's eyes narrowed. "It is not my choice, but Asa's. And she tends to be fine with anything, but I'd like you to come with me for a moment." Inwardly, Asa smirked. Her father was going to give James the whole rundown, and the threat on his life if he did anything to hurt her, etc., etc. Outwardly, Asa only looked at the ground and doodled designs in the dirt with her right foot, seemingly uncaring of the conversation. ...where sadness is to contrast.

"Yes Master." He said bowing and fallowed him inside. He remembered when he was younge that he was given to a master with a younge daughter. He too had a conversation with him at the sight of his rose. He knew that he was not to de-flower her nor was he to touch her in any lustful way. He cared for his Masters and Mistresses and would only obay them. He would never go against their wishes and orders. He was a perfect pet and desired only to be seen as a good pet to his Master or Mistress. As James walked inside he kept his eyes on the ground and dared not to look up at here he was going. He fallowed his Master's shadow blindly trusting him.
