MEET THE MESS. That's me. But I swear I'm clean.
Well, I'm told I'm shy. I just don't like to rush into things, you know? That's how people loose there heads... figuratively and literally. I don't like to talk much; and I don't really like this whole 'fighting' thing. I mean, it's great I have all these cool powers and it's a lot easier for me to care for plants and stuff but...
-A brief history from Totec's notes- Isidore is from the downers. His mother, a poor cook for a shop in The Scene, did her best to take care of him. He helped with the cooking, and found it fascinating that the shop grew it’s own seasonings. He never knew his father, who died in an unknown way, but his Mother nurtured him and always kept him fed and clothed. Yet he always knew that his Mother had it very difficult. When I approached him, he agreed to go. I look forward to working with the boy.

LOOKING FOR HELP. Xipe Totec couldn't use help wanted ads. Xipe Totec is the Aztec God of Agriculture, Vegetation, The East, Disease, Spring, Goldsmiths, Silversmiths and the Seasons. He’s known under some other names, but for my purposes I will be calling him Xipe Totec, or “The Flayed One”. Legend says that Xipe Totec flayed himself in order to feed humanity, using himself as an example to show the maize seeds how to germinate and grow. The Aztecs, thankful to his sacrifice, would hold festivals every year in his name. During these festivals they would flay the sacrifices, being careful to take the skin off in one piece. The skin, after being worn by a priest for 20 days and adorned with various jewelry and precious things, would be placed under the temple in a special container for Xipe Totec to retrieve and wear. Because of this, Xipe Totec has many different faces, but often wears ones that he finds beautiful and adorned with feathers and gold. The skin he wears hangs loose around his hands, and is open around his mouth. He was often depicted as a “golden god” when not wearing skin, but when he did his flesh was shown red. Red verticle stripes were often depicted running vertically down his face- from his forehead across his eyes to his chin. A Wikipedia History
-A More Poetic Version- Xipe Totec was interested. Not in the others, no… not in the other gods and goddesses. No, he was interested in this new, ruined world he looked down and saw stretching out. The dead and dying lands screamed to him for comfort, for some form of retribution. Some form of salve to ease their pain. Xipe Totec did not heed them. He knew there was nothing that could be done, and instead set about making seeds. New seeds, new plants to grow in the new harsh environment given to him to play with. Thousands of new plants grew around him, and he wondered how to test them. He could not spend time down in this new world, his skins would not last the time it would take… disheartened, he stopped his work and rejoined the others in their musings. Then he heard the whispers, the whispers of something called “Godlings”…
Relief spread through him as he watched the city the others had talked about, seeing the flower shop and its owner, yearning to get her some of his experiments. He searched desperately for a child, like the others. One that would listen to him, do his work. In return he would care for the child, give it his strength to survive in this barren land. What he found was a boy, and he was pleased with this child. Now, to get to work… --- Xipe Totec, to be blunt, I see as a bit of a “mad scientist”. He protects and watches over Izzy, but only because he needs Izzy to test his new plants. Because of this he is a bit malevolent, punishing Izzy with skin rashes when he does wrong. Yet when he does right, Totec takes this to heart and helps Izzy, either by healing him or giving him small tokens (mostly fresh, clean dirt and seeds).
