Final Fantasy: Esper's Tale
The Test of Time

Sin is crushed, and Vegnagun annihilated. The age of war has passed, and with it the summoners entirely. But Vegnagun was more than just a hell-spawned beast made mecha. It was forged with a bit of the power of the mighty Aeon Atomos, and with the machina's destruction did time begin to falter.
Spira suddenly finds itself falling apart and into ages past. Cities of ancient times are phasing in and out of existance with increasing frequency. Mountains become deserts, oceans become cities. The sun is blocked out for but a moment by a great floating continent, then suddenly that land fades once more.
Ancient enemies of the world have been torn from the depths of Hell and let loose to wander the world, both in their own time and in others. Kefka, Sephiroth, X-death, Zeramus...all have returned from the grave. The heroes who battled these nightmares made flesh, however, have been left alone in their calm repose. Without heroes, who will rescue the world from its darkest hour?
And what of the Aeons? Without the summoners to wield their great energies, how are they to aid the world? The answer comes not long after the world begins to fall apart.
Each Aeon, Esper, Summon, whatever they have been called in the past or present, has suddenly appeared unbidden on the surface of the planet. As the temporal barriers fade, so does the ancient magic that holds these unstoppable forces at bay and at the command of a select few. But so with the passing of these energies is the energy of the Summons themselves. In order to survive, they must perform an ancient rite lost in the sands of time to merge with a human and stabilize their power. Without this, they will surely fade into nothing.
But, there is more to this than simply a return of the villains of old. Something far more dangerous, to time as a whole. It is now the time for Summons, Espers, Guardian Forces, and Aeons to come together as humans and triumph as heroes for the good of the world. For the good of the worlds. They must triumph, or everything will surely die.

Rules
1. PM me your profiles (you will not be accepted unless or until this is done)
2. No godmodding, etc.
3. PM me your profiles (you will be ignored if you do not)
4. This RP is not a nuke-fest. If it were, it would be Mortal Kombat. This is a storyline-driven rp in which we go around killing very specific subjects with characters too powerful to use frivolously. Treat this like any other rp you are in. Follow your character's personality, don't be retarded, get people mad and you're going to be slapped in the face. If I find you doing something that will cause this to spiral into such, measures will be taken.
6. Obey the Gaia TOS (which ought to be rather obvious by now)
7. There will be no flaming under any circumstances. If you have a problem with something someone does, whether because it's not fair or because they have misinterpreted your post (or some other such thing), raise the point with them in a polite manner.
8. I MUST accept your profile before you may post in this rp.
9. In order to remain active in the rp, you must post at least once a week.
10. Allow me to reiterate: Do not post in this rp until I have accepted your profile. (I've had problems with this before. Can you tell?)
11. I reserve the right to change this list of rules at any time and for any reason in order to better serve the needs of this rp.

Profile Template

Gaia Name: (This ought to be rather obvious)

Character Name: (Duh.)

Age: (The age of the human bonded with, and thus your character's body's age)

Personality: (How your character will act in a given situation)

Appearance: (What your character looks like. There will most certainly be changes in appearance due to the fusion, plus clothes since we don't want anyone running around in the nude)

Weapons: (You can't always rely on your Esper powers, so you'd best have some kind of weapon to work with. Also, you have a powerful 'killing stroke' with your weapon to supplement whatever other skills you have with it. This is where that goes.)

Powers: (What magical powers your Esper has. If you're Ifrit, you set things on fire. If you're Ramuh, you make things all crispy. If you're Odin you cut things in half with a single stroke. This is also where your Esper Technique goes. 10,000 Needles, Tri Dazer, Judgment Bolt, Diamond Dust, this is where it goes. Also, Aeons have two techniques. Both of those go here. If you want other abilities, also put them here after the abilities you already had and put a detailed description of how you got them in the History)

History: (Ahh, here is the most interesting part. How did you react to the sudden freedom? How did you meet the human you bonded with? What have you done since then? Where's your daggum horse? Be very detailed here.)

If you're having difficulty writing your profile, or if you want suggestions of characters, then PM me. I have a list of quite a number of characters, some ideas for strengths and flaws, and abilities.

Collects other Espers and sends them in the right direction. Under this heading until someone else wants him, but he is too important to not have.

Doomtrain: BladeSingerXIV
Main source of transportation, as soon as everybody gets out there and finds his rails. He will shift occasionally to whoever is acting GM, since I won't always want the role.

Ark: BladeSingerXIV (eventually)
Will become co-main source of transportation, once Doomtrain gets his rails and Ark's engines are repaired. Will shift with Doomtrain.

Atomos: BladeSingerXIV
Holding the universe together. His power is slowly slipping away, since he can't afford to let go even for the short time it would take to merge with a human to stabilize his influence. We're on a clock, folks, so let's make it count!

Even more space in case I think of something else to do.

((Alright, folks, I think that we now have enough characters to begin rping. I'll lead.))

Tritoch slowly walks across the clearing within the peaceful wood called Macalania. He is at reasonably at ease here, but there is something discontent. This is not his land. No, the forest is pleasant, but returning to Narshe is really what he would prefer. Since that is impossible, thanks to the temporal disparity, he'll just have to go to Mount Gagazet. It's cold and windy up there, too, and similar enough.
With that in mind, the bird of paradise takes wing and flies toward the great monolith that is the ancestral home of the Ronso.

Odin walks with his amusingly feathered horse across the field, the expansive area where he is told that Sin was defeated. It really makes no difference to him, that doesn't really matter anymore, but what does (or did) matter is that it is also home to an extensive Chocobo ranch. Hence his horse's less-than-hairy state. And his sudden lack of one pair of legs. And his thoroughly sour disposition.
"Really, you ought to be thankful. Now you're not going to fade into nothingness."
Says the guy who doesn't have to molt, the demon says sourly, his rider mounting.
"Hey, you're not the only one who didn't want this to happen! But it was the only way, and I'll not have you leaving after all these millennia!"
Phhht. You couldn't have cared any less about me before this was necessary.
"Says you. You were always fed, weren't you?"
I didn't need food then, and you didn't know where I was half the time.
"That's your fault, mister 'let's-run-off-and-leave-Odin-in-the-middle-of-a-horde-of-BEHEMOTHS'!"
I don't know what you're talking about.
"I swear, I'm going to kill you one of these days..."
Oh, please do. Do us all a favor. Oh, wait, you were saying that to me, not yourself. OWW! Hey, watch the spurs!

Bahamut gazes across the mountain, standing atop the highest spire of the temple of Djose. It ought to be due any moment, now...ah, there it is. Goodbye, Luca, hello Vector. Ah, the capital city of the Empire. It was fun, razing it once. Now it is as it was before that terrible day, but he hopes he will not be forced to do it again. These occurances are becoming more common. The Floating Continent can almost always be seen now, and the moon's color changes on an hourly basis. Mount Gagazet spends almost as much time as Narshe and the mountain on which the Dark Knight Cecil proved himself as it does Mount Gagazet. This does not bode well for existance at all. The next thing which must be done is either contact Ramuh or Atomos himself. But...no one knows where Atomos is.
Ramuh it is, then. To the Thunder Plains!

Fenrir's head jerked in the direction of a large pair of wings taking to the sky. He saw something that could resemble Tritoch heading for a great mountain. He too had been in the Macalania woods, but the mystic shadows of these woods had blinded him to the pressence of his fellow Esper. He cursed himself for not being more aware, but he saw the target of his fellow esper. The giant mountain with an identity crisis, it was not easily missed.

Ragnarok fell face-first on the deck of the ship he was riding on. He grumbled as he had been awakened from his sleep. He looked up and saw the mid-afternoon sky. He sighed, not knowing where any of his fellows were. He had jumped on this ship which dared to traverse the ever changing seas to complete their trade routs. Islands seemed to come and go like the direction of the wind. What is the world coming to?

So, where are we going? the chocohorse asks, the two of them trotting south.
"Where we are going is to the Thunder Plains."
Why, might I ask, are we going there?
"Because," Odin says with a tone of unsettling glee, "I hear there're some real monsters there, and my blade thirsts for the blood of my enemies..."
You know, most people consider sanity a good thing.
"Shut up, you, and get flying. We don't want to pass through any human settlements. Four legged chocobos are uncommon, and appearantly they're terrified of my armor and lance."
Yeah, yeah. What can I do for you next? Shine your armor? Get you coffee?
"Actually, my armor is a bit smudged. I'm glad you thought of it," the Esper says, pulling out a feather and eliciting an annoyed squawk from his mount. Yes, this is going to be an interesting time, being semihuman.

Tritoch flaps his wings, gliding for the most part like a raptor across the Calm Lands. This is truly a good day for flying. The winds are light, the sun is shining, and OH GOD I'M GOING TO FLY INTO THE FLOATING CONTINENT!

"Well, that's unusual," Odin says, watching the green feathered bird slam into the side of the abruptly appearant floating continent.
Hey, isn't that...?
"After that bird! If you let Tritoch hit the ground I will grind you into kibble for my next steed!"

Bahamut soars over the Moonflow, passing also over the ocean on his way and avoiding coastline. His is rather...noticeable form, and he does look similar to the fiends in this land. If he is not careful, he could have a dragon hunt on his hands.

Fenrir made his way to the northern edge of the misticle woods, and as he broke the barrier he found the Macalania woods petrified. He snorted. The changing realities were starting to get on his nerves. A new scent hit him now. It was a meadow, many besats, and... a familiar warrior. He began to walk towards the faint scents of the new place.

Ragnarok found himself at a place harboring some very bad memories. Instead of the Luca he was told he would find, he found Vector. He grimaced at the memories and stepped out onto the platform. He fealt uneasy just at the odur, and he just knew that the old magitech research facility was inside.

She placed her hands firmly unto the ground drawing in a few deep breaths. The air was a bit heavy for her. Slowly and steadily Phoenix climbed off of all fours using her scythe as a sort of cane to aid her in her standing. At her left lay a corpse of a fiend.

Phoenix slowly began to move forward. She was tired... her feet almost dragging on the ground. It felt as if she had been training and traveling for weeks on the Mushroom Rock Road. But indeed it was only for 3 days going on 4. And this time it was time to press on. Sleep was calling to her and biting at her human body.

Stumbling slowly across the bridge she made her way closer and even closer to Djose Temple. "Ah!! ye back lassy! You hungreh?"

At the thought of hunger, Phoenix's stomach jerked and bellowed calmly, "Starving!" she instantly forgot all about sleep.

Walking had never been fun for Shiva and the fact that she had been walking for a long time now really was irritating her. "At least with summoners you don't have to walk." She muttered. She had no money at the moment and she really felt that she was above stealing a ride from someone. At least she was almost to the far end of the Thunder Plains. She had walked here all the way from Guadosalam. She had really disliked having to dodge all those bolts of lightning...not fun for an ice queen. Over head she could almost make out the outline of a massive dragon. "Well I wonder what he is doing here..." Shiva found shelter near some rocks to think about the fact that Bahamut was coming here. "Maybe that old man Ramuh is around here. He always liked a light show..." She looked around the plains she had crossed from behind the massive rocks which were collecting the lighting as it fell. Perhaps she could follow the dragon king if she was careful.

"This place changed again!" Mindy snaped as the city scape changed yet again into that of Vector. She was seriously rethinking seperating from her sisters. Sandy had made good sense. Now the youngest Magus sister had to find her way back to her sisters in time to leave and find out what exactly was going on.
Fortunately for Mindy her sisters had already been close to finding her and they walked into each other as they both rounded a corner. "Mindy! I should kick your butt for going off like that...at least your safe." Sandy said as she crossed her arms looking down at her littleist sister. Cindy hugged her younger sister and grinned. "Now we can get going. Where shall we try and find answers Sandy?" "Well it makes more sense to find one of the elders of our kind to get a answer...I have no idea where Bahamut is...but Ramuh hasn't been seen for ages..." The eldest sister pondered outloud. "Why don't we go back to where that Yuna girl found us and see if we can't find one of them from there?" Mindy said still slightly aggravated with her eldest sister. Sandy looked at Mindy for a mooment and then a slow smile covered her face. "That is a good idea Mindy. Lets go." The younger girl blinked in shock as her middle sister grabbed her and they marched off to the Calm lands wherre they had been found and set free from.

Shoveling in the food quite hungrily she had seemed to forgotten her manners. She peered up at the man who had given her food. He was a half-Al-bhed, kind and gentle, they called him Noare.

He looked at her with a strange stare and she slowed down and began to use her manners. "Well lassy, at leas' ya aint no gal who likes teh take delicate bites." He sipped some cactuar water from a small tin cup. "So...where ya be headin' after this?"

She smiled wiping her mouth in a delicate manner and swallowed her food. "If you don't mind...I would like to stay here a few days to rest up and gather up some things for my journey ahead...I think I may be heading towards the Calm Lands."

Noare nodded gently and shoveled his own spoonful of food into his mouth, chewed then swallowed just as soon as he put it in his mouth. "Lassy! Ye welcome 'ere anytime ye like! You take care of 'em fiends so our children won't be rustled up by 'em! You's a good gal!"

Phoenix smiled at this and even managed to giggle a little, she began to eat some more.

Bahamut gazes downward as he flies over the Thunder Plains. He catches a glimpse of something...
He performs something similar to a flip and a twist at once, ceasing his flight at the same time so that he falls. The combined massive weight of armor and muscle coupled with the force of falling from that height cracks the stone as the dragon lands on all fours. Rising slowly, the ancient Esper turns to face Shiva.
"Greetings to you, my lady. What brings you to this unpleasant land?"
