Shula, mostly grown, wound her way through a section of tall grass in the meadow, head down, eyes on the ground. She could no longer hide herself in the way she did when she was a hatchling, but she was so timid that she did seem to shrink into herself, and looked much smaller than she was. She was quiet as she walked, keeping to herself, wings tucked tightly to her back and halo askew.

Not far from where Shula was, Quillan lay in the cool grass along the shore of the sparkling pool. She sighed. Why in the world had she agreed to watch her younger siblings while her parents were off doing... well, whatever they were doing. Nem had said they were going to hunt.
She rolled her eyes as the four peepers played around her, save for Aqua. The tiny angelic hippogriff was curled against the soft downy fluff of Quil's belly.

As the breeze picked up, Shula paused, catching a familiar scent on the breeze. She smiled and shook her head, then began to trot to where her friend was lounging. "Stuck with all the little ones, I see." she teased gently, voice very soft, though it still carried.

"Yeah... mom and dad went hunting." She swished her tail impatiently as three of her four younger siblings climbed all over her. Onyx snuggled between her shoulder blades, Pearl pounced onto Onyx, and Aqua continued to sleep.
"I think I'm going.... yeouch!" She shrieked as Topaz clamped her her beak around her tail.
Aqua woke up, startled. "Peep!"
