"WildDreams" by M. Thorne, all characters and story (unless otherwise noted) are my own. Enjoy.

Some people wish for their dreams to come true. While some work for those dreams, and still others attempt at expressing them if they aren’t tangible. For me? Well, I did have dreams. Many, many dreams. Daydreams, night dreams, those little mind-wanderings you do just before you fall asleep. We all do this don’t we? We dream in order to escape the reality that haunts us. In my case, well, I guess you could say that, dreams ARE my reality.
Well, let me explain.
My name’s Mark.
I was an ordinary guy, just dreaming away the last bits of high school, when I was suddenly shot putted into a mess of adventures that got me where I am today.
It started when a young kid on an island paradise way far out in the middle of the universe accidentally broke open an orb that kept a series of “locked doors” closed between different worlds and realities. But with those doors broken open, I was vacuumed from my home world, to his, hitting a speed bump along the way. I know, sounds like that video game that’s so popular, right? Well, in this case, I just wanted to get home.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always dreamed of flying off to another world, but I still have a sickening need to be able to get home from where ever I’m going.
Well, the kid, Caspian helped me find the right path home, my “yellow brick road”. You see, Caspian happened to live on this one tiny planet that served as an intergalactic “Pit stop”, connected to the rest of the universe by highways known as “Laylines”.
Along that way we discovered two things:
1) I was “followed” by a winged man named Alexander. Now, by “followed” I mean that he was sharing my body with me since I landed at the “Speed bump”, but he no longer had a physical form of his own. Instead he was capable of “tag teaming” with me, taking my place on the physical world for a duration of time. Which in a way I didn’t mind. It was like having a guardian angel on call. And besides, it wasn’t like he could read my mind or anything, although, I can always hear what he has to say.
2) the second discovery was that we followed the wrong path.

That is how we ended up on an identical world to my own. Only in this world, people could be a super hero in alter-ego mode, a villain could attack at any moment, and all the cities had some sort of epic name. Here we ran into a couple of vigilantes. First was Geo Maichan, a part time boxer/wrestler who had an ego the equivalent of his body mass. Although he was a bit of a jerk at first, he ended up being rather friendly. Then there was his partner, Elly Van Houton. She was a mage. That’s right, a mage. She came from and had a deep knowledge of an occult world not far from the one we were on at the time.
Well anyway, Caspian and I sort of got roped into helping Geo and Elly capture some villains that we accidentally set loose on our arrival.
After that ordeal, Elly and Geo became interested in helping me find my way home on the proper path. I started realizing how much this all began to sound like some “Wizard of Oz” story by this time. But I had to admit, I started to enjoy it.
Well it turned out that we were all rewarded with a strange bracer. It was rusted and didn’t seem very important.
Until Alexander recognized it. It was the match to his bracer, a magical item that linked him to myself. Course he didn’t say this until I already tried the old thing on, and incidentally, the previous owner was still connected to it.
That’s how I got Hector Kingly. A proud prince from Alexander’s world and now currently stuck in the same situation as Alex and I were.

Well, all in all, we managed to reach my home again. Not after picking up the faintest trail to my world that is. But when I had reached there, and we all began to share our goodbyes, I began to wonder.
With my new companions, and the possibility to travel just about anywhere in the universe in a matter of days…
Wouldn’t it be fun if…?

so that's how Mark, Alex, and Hector all got roped together... remind me to make it different in my Xavier novel. I don't want to infringe too much on your idea since you did say i could still use Mark, but had to change the other two.

Maybe I'll make Mark Possed by a Demon and an Angel... nah too cliche' who knows, I'll think of something.

good overview btw.
