Setting: The sakura are in bloom in the town's local park. Families and friends come from all over to gather and enjoy the flowers. They have picnics, contests, and games to celebrate Hanami.

Tyche walked to the park, expecting to see her friends and family there. She'd brought a couple bags of fruit, as her part in the picnic. People were everywhere, playing games, talking, and just having a good time. The dark haired girl felt so excited as she looked for familiar faces.

Houou had brought a cute little obento and a picnic blanket to the park, and sat down under a cherry tree, enjoying the beautiful day and the wonderful blossoms.

"HIII!!!" Midnight shouted as she saw Houou setting up. She walked over with a chibi Sanguine following her as they both carried a box. "We tried making o..o..nee gee....um..rice." she tried pronouncing Onigiri but was still not used to Japanese words, "So, we made food this morning!!" she continued before setting the boxes on the blanket. "It's so beautiful out here, isn't it.. The flowery trees always remind me of home"

"Hello. You mean onigiri, right?" Houou smiled, holding up one herself. "We have some nice trees on Jupiter as well similar to these. I just love the blossoms."

Midnight tilted her head to the side as she asked in surprise, "There's trees on Jupiter...? They must be something of rare beauty then.." she thought to herself as she sat on the blanket.

"I guess the palace grounds are special, since we have a nice garden," Houou replied. She took out her chopsticks and began to eat.

Midnight laid down on the blanket as she opened a box & munches on a rice ball as she looked around for Tyche and other familiar faces wandering about, wondering who would come visit them. Sanguine picked at the sakura petals that had fallen to the ground as he then proceeded to eat one.

Setsuna sat on a bench in the park with her baby in her arms. Little Juneko was just sound asleep and Setsuna would take her eyes off of her only for a moment to observe the petals of the sakura as they fell elegantly from the trees. She smiled to herself, and then to her sleeping daughter. She turned her eyes back up towards the center of the park, skimming it for familiar faces.

Kureno had forgotten all about Hanami when he decided to take a shortcut through the park to get to the store. It was a blinding reminder when he saw all the people gathered there. Sitting on the bench and holding a baby was the only familiar face in the park. Kureno approached the bench and placed a hand on Setsuna's shoulder, asking lightly, "Another child?"

The serenity of the flowing sakura was calming to Setsuna as she watched it. It had been enough to put baby Juneko to sleep for a moment, but then reawakened her because of her curiosity about the blossoms flying about. Setsuna chuckled in adoration as she watched Juneko reach her little hand out to try to catch one.
"Oh!" Setsuna stammered a bit startled when she suddenly felt a hand upon her shoulder. She turned to her right to see the familiar face of a young man whom she hadn't seen in quite awhile. "Kureno-san." she said as she smiled up at him chuckling at his comment. "Yes, another child. This is Juneko."

This would be the first time Canasta would be able to participate in such an event. Hearing a lot about such festivities, he had decided to attend it too.
Back on business from Italy, Canasta had not been too far from the site, where this 'Hanami' would be taking place. There was a memory that popped in about Washington having Cherry Blossoms and to be thinking he would be going to Japan for it, excited him.
Lucky for Shasta, he brought an ample lunch, considering it more than enough, he might share. Finally arriving in a sporty BMW, the one he had let William have, searched for a place to park and thought where to situate himself, picnic spot wise.
Amidst the trees, benches and lawning, passing by all this, Setsuna had come into view and Canasta waved to her and asked, "So, this your first time here or are you a veteran visitor?" standing in front of her as he approached in his new suit. Now noticing a small figure in her arms as he got closer, he queried, "So, how is baby Jem doing?" watching the infant attempting to reach for the cherry blossom petals floating in the air.

Midnight gave Sanguine a noogie as she pleaded with him to stop eating the flowers as he proceeded to do so to spite her. She then took a rice ball & jammed it in his mouth. "There's plenty of food!! Eat some of it, will ya??"
He gagged, coughed, then spit it out. "Your food sucks! That's why we always eat at restaurants!"
"No, I'm just too lazy to cook. And besides, you're always stealing my cakes for people after I'm done baking them. I always have to make a second one for you now."
"Why didn't you make a cake today then?"
"Because! - I don't know. Rice seemed more..traditional."
"You're not even from Japan.." Sanguine sighed as he looked over to Houou's food for a minute before grabbing her attention, "Hey, is the food on Jupiter different too? It's not as bland as rice is it?"

Setsuna looked down at her baby with gentle eyes, brushing off a small petal that had landed on her forehead. She looked up to see a familiar face, the face of one of her old friends.
"Hello there Shag." she said with a rather glowy smile. "Fancy seeing you here during this festival." she looked back down at Juneko, who was cooing rather softly. "We try to come here every year actually. It's tradition." she paused to observe the petals once more. She couldn't help being caught by the calmness of the petals descending to the ground. "It is unfortunate that not all of us could come this year."

"We have all different kinds of food on Jupiter," Houou replied. "There's a really good variety. You know, some people have to eat bland food because it is all their stomach can handle. Since you can't stand bland, I'd recommend keeping a lot of herbs and spices in the house. I'm a fan of garlic and basil myself, and of course I like several of the seasonings native to my planet."
