Instead of wasting my time and money going to school to refine my illustration skill and exercising my imagination and strive for a career producing quality works of any genre, I could just take it easy and pump out quickly drawn, poorly colored gay porn with plots, ironically, pulled out of my a**.
If you couldn't tell by my lengthy tirade dripping with sarcasm, I am enraged that American artists who obviously do not understand the essence of the manga genre and cannot draw to save their lives are actually making a living in this industry.
The following are some examples of, in the words of Tallest Purple from Invader Zim, such lazy mooches:

Just by looking at these covers you can tell they are cheap knockoffs of the genre, the style. Upon first glance you can tell that the piece is done by an American wannabe. But to open them up, is worse. The style is poorly imitated not appropriated with screen tones are used to color and placed in all the wrong places, the line work a warped imitation of popular Japanese manga-ka, bursting at the seams with abused manga cliches and a plot written without the use of the brain.
Not only is this an insult to manga-ka, professional artists inspired by manga-ka, and fans everywhere, it is also extremely offensive and detrimental to the yaoi genre. A good deal of yaoi manga is well planned and well executed. Plots, however gratuitous, can have substance. The art, however graphic it may be, is beautiful.
To those who think I'm overreacting, each of the graphic novels shown above are priced at about 9-12$ - the average price of a good quality manga- Would you pay that much for any of those books?
