So did anyone come close to actually falling for the "OmniDrink Sellout"? I actually kinda did, until I saw the video. I was like, "dude...Lanzer sounds like a zombie." And then at the end he said "Have fun, and remember to do what they tell you!". And then I remembered it's April 1st today. Hah. redface

I'm gullible sometimes. But it's also kind of sad that the idea of Gaia selling out to some big corporation is somewhat believable. Also, apparently OmniDrink is a real beverage people drink when they need to pass a drug test. I wonder if Gaia knew about this? I can't imagine they would have.

Was anyone here around for the 2004 April Fool's? Exploding Pink Gift box that made us nakie and gave us a black face? That one was completely awesome, and spawned the now-extinct InvisiBobs. crying

ANYWAY. I'm just bored and killing time. So tell me about your personal experiences with practical jokes, whether you were on the giving or receiving end!

Has anyone seen Google today? They've pulled a prank too. Check it out! (My favorite is the Email link on her profile)

Also, YouTube's prank was to flip everything upside down. And all the spotlight videos have something to do with being upside down. xD

I'm anxious to see what FlyFF did, but they seem to be under "emergency maintenance" and I can't even get to the forums. Poo. Last year their prank was a big deal, and one of the admin actually got fired or resigned because of it. I'm all curious now because usually the game being under maintenance doesn't affect the forums! Grrr the mystery! D:

Has anyone found any other internet pranks? I'm still on the hunt!

I checked here on Gaia first thing this morning because I knew they would be all over April Fool's. So I knew right off the bat that the "Corporate Merger" announcement was the hoax.

But today was youth group day, so I've been afk until now!!! zOMG was still down for maintenance when I left for my chauffeur-duty. Hope was that there would be another prank in there. I'm going to explore now. (Now that I've made sure I'm not keeping a new old Fart waiting for entry.)

I gotta go see zOMG! I heard OmniDrink had a weird new land they added that's just bad marketing throw-a-bunch-of-popular-genres-together craziness. lol

Read the news bulletin on the server choosing window.

I love good, clean fun where no one gets hurt. mrgreen

So nobody has any personal prank stories? D: I guess I'll share a prank I was a victim of: (I can't remember if I told this story already, so sorry if I have!)

On my 19th birthday, I was living in my hometown in S.E. Alaska, and working at the cannery. When my co-workers found out my birthday was coming up, they all decided to throw me a big party. Not just ANY party, a costume party. And not just any costume party, we were all going to dress up as famous rock stars. They told me I had to dress as Marilyn Manson and meet them at a local pizza restaurant. So I dyed my long, natural blonde hair black (there was no way to get a wig in that town, especially on such short notice), and dressed up as Marilyn Manson from his '97 Rolling Stone cover. Except without the creepy contact lenses, of course. I was all excited because I was something of a Manson fan back then, and I LOVED dressing up all Goth and freaking people out. And I had never had friends throw such a cool party for little 'ol me before. Anyway...I show up at the restaurant looking quite evil, and of course none of my friends are dressed up. They were all sitting there laughing hysterically. They actually started to feel bad when they realized I had dyed my hair black for this.

The best part, though? When I walked in, there were only about 4 other patrons in the restaurant...when they saw me, they all got up and quietly left, eyeballing me the whole time and taking the long way around me to the doors. Must have thought I was the Antichrist or something. xD

(I should add that I never considered myself "Goth"--it was just fun to dress up like it sometimes and see how people reacted. That town is seriously so tiny and isolated, there actually were no goth kids or punk kids or emo kids or anything like that in my school. People would literally cross the hall or the street to avoid me. xD I wonder if it's changed at all in the past 10 years!)

rofl That is wonderful!!! Being from a small town in Cali, I can completely picture your birthday scene!!! rofl That's a good one.

My best friend told me that she played the following pranks on her younger brother. (I've never been sure if she was kidding, or wishing, or if she really did . . . & she avoids answering me b/c she passed away more than 20 yrs ago. redface )

Here are the pranks:

1.) Putting syran-wrap across the top of the toilet bowl (but under the seat) so that the pee-pee would run out & onto the victim's shoes and the floor.

2.) putting a bucket of water on the top of a semi-opened door. This way, when the victim opens the door to pass through, they dislodge the bucket and get a headful of water.

3.) Covering the whole toilet seat w/ Vasoline. To cause the victim to slide off the seat.

(Ok, So, the reason that I've always doubted that she executed these pranks is because What Mom in the whole U.S. would let a kid dirty-up a house that much in order to pull a prank on an innocent younger sibling?!?) biggrin

Plus, I don't imagine that the Vasoline would create a slide; more likely, it would just feel grossly sticky . . . right?

I dunno, Vaseline is pretty slippery. I don't know that a person would slide off the seat, but it would definitely be a surprising sensation. xD Plus, have you ever had to wash Vaseline off your hands? Imagine trying to wash it off your bum!! blaugh
