I currently have 600 Source of Forces(long way to go..). At first, I wanted a phoenix.. but as I get more familiar with the game, I found out that the best PVE/tank pet would be the Hercules..?(correct me If I'm wrong). Also, in PWI forums, a lot of people are recommending to get the Hercules FIRST and then just save up for the Phoenix. ON THE OTHER HAND, a lot of them PREFERS the Phoenix. So what do you think I should do? By the way, I am not a very PvP oriented person.. So maybe getting a phoenix would be a waste..? I only want one just because of the fact that it can fly and It has a decent Mdef.
I burned like 900k coins earlier by buying 500 SoF. Freaking gay. >_>;; Prices are horrible. I don't know if it's just in Sanctuary but the prices are RISING like crazy. Last time I checked, These items we're selling for around 2.1k - 2.3k Now they're like 2.5! emo Meh.. How much do they sell for on your server? Some people would sell them at a ridiculous price and try to trick other players. I saw someone selling feathers for 12k each. I'm like WTH IS WRONG WITH YOU.

okay personally I like phoenix better, attack is SO AWESOME
Its so hard to keep up with your pet, its like solo zhenning
But Hercules can tank...phoenix cant...up to you really
I mainly wanted phoenix for the pvp though, its so hax in TW xD
but do you really think you can buy BOTH phoenix AND herc? X.x

It could be possible if you really want to.
I'm not saying I could in any way.
I just want a Hercules because I usually PvE than PvP. To be honest, I never dueled anyone before(in pw). I'm just not very fond of it. So it's decided, I guess.

Last I checked in Sanctuary you can purchace gold for 107k.
107000 +2% AH tax = 109140
Battle Pet Packs are 50 silver each so 1pack = 54570
Now comes the small gamble.
The pet packs give you a random amount of either sources or feathers
10 - 5457/SoF-PF
20 - 2728/SoF-PF
30 - 1819/SoF-PF
40 - 1364/SoF-PF
50 - 1091/SoF-PF
if you get either 10 or 20...you take a loss..however from my personal experience.. buying in bulk results in a save. Since you have a higher chance to get for under 2500...this is imo the way to go.
My Herc - roughly 19 million
My Phoenix - roughly 20 million
vs
Buying SoF-PF for 2500 = 25 million

If you get your herc you can easily solo bosses and get enough for your nix.

IN PVP SERVER >.> not that people care about pvp servers here
YOU ALWAYS GET A HERC FIRST IF your going to be dedicated and train it
to do hh and solo bosses, if you just want to pk GET A DAMN NIX I know a lv 60 veno with a nix can own me and im lv 77.

funny little fact about the Phoenix.. its defense is actually better than the Hercules. but after Hercules' buffs, its entirely outclassed in defense. plus there's the fact Hercules can be used in FB, TT, and other places flying isnt allowed. Nix makes a great leveling partner, and makes a fantastic air tank, but if its your first one of the cash shop pets, I would advise getting the hercules first he will make you more money than the phoenix, which will then allow you to buy the phoenix as well. and, since words are meaningless most of the time.. i turn you to this link, which shows pet stats at level 90. compare the Herc and the Phoenix... and you will see that, were the Herc and Nix to both have the defense buffs, Phoenix would be on top, due to its amazingly higher magic defense. coupled with the HP buff it has.. it would become the greatest world boss tank(unless the boss is Krimson... then it sucks)

anyway, my answer to the poll is both.. Herc for FBs and TT, and most boss tanking.. Phoenix for fast leveling, and Air tanking.
