Well the time has come, the FJ has been smashed to the shithouse and just doesn't have the go that I need to be competitive in the sport. Most of the other blokes are upgrading to newer cars and I was really getting left behind. So I got together with my Dad and we thought of a nifty plan. Because i'm a povo and dont have a real job, my dad agreed to buy a newer car and the only catch is we'd have to share it. Here it is    It Looks like a hunk of s**t, and the colours are terrible but this thing absoulity hammer's. The guy put about $17,000 into building the thing. It has A worked 202 which last time he put it on the dyno was putting out about 240 horses, fully adjustable suspension, Tap auto, 3 full sets of racing tire's (hoosiers) and a proper redline cage. It's Freakin crazy, I've been on a high since we got it. But I have to wait till easter to drive the darn thing. But Hopefully this is what I need to get a win under my belt.

Congratulations! Sorry if I don't have any comments, but I have no idea what I'm looking at. All I know is tube-frame = less weight, more rigidity, and better handling over unibody. I'm unfortunately only a driver, and not a mechanic or engineer... so I don't do any work on cars. Other than detailing, changing oil or a bulb, and rotating tires... I can MAYBE put an intake on a car, if it doesn't require too much wire/sensor modification AND comes with detailed instruction.

Well basically what Davo and his dad now have, is the REAL DEAL: a pure race car that looks to have been built for the job pretty well. And its a family team, which makes it even more hardcore. Looks to also have a one-piece fiberglass front end? question

Methinks you should give it a Harvey Dent / Two face kinda paint job, with one side sporting your colours and panttens, while the other side sports your dads choice of colours and or patterns. mrgreen

I'm pretty much in the same boat as Mille here, all I know is it's a racing style care with what appears to be a V8.

Yeah The full tube frame just cuts down some of the weight and gives the protection from a hard shunt, And @ joey yeah the hole car has fiberglass panels. The only real panels on the car are the rear quaters which are bent to the shithouse, so the bloke that used to own it just covered them with fiberglass to keep it looking straight.
But yeah i'd have to say i'm the opposite to you guys, Fixing and making stuff for cars is the easy part. When it come to driving, I just don't have clue. I make that many mistakes it's not funny and most of the time it end up with me having a heap of damage to fix.
@ Super panda, That sounds like a good idea, But what do ya reckon about colours or design's. I wanted somthing that stand out and really catches your attention. Does anybody have any idea's??

Davo Dinkum Does anybody have any idea's?? What car is it? I've done some work for motorsport signage before and I might be able to help. Also, it'd help if you can send me some images of your dad's colours and your own, too.

Oh, yer. We'd also need to know where your numbering goes and any areas on the car that need to be kept clear for sponsor signage.

Well in the end I really want both the cars to look the same and neither of us really have colours so we have a clean slate, All I really want somthing that would stand out, not be too difficult to paint and hopefully not use incredibly expensive paint. Although I like Panda's idea It's really not worth putting that much effort into a speedway car because it's only going to be smashed up in the end anyway.
Yeah numbering isnt a big deal. we usually have a Numbers on both front doors, bout the same size as on the FJ (I think thats the biggest we are allowed to have). But If i'm gonna repaint them both i'll just paint the design on the car and put the Number "decals" Over the top.

Good on you m8! Give'em hell!!! twisted As for colors I think flat or satin black. I always though it looked clean on a racer and stands out more by not trying, every other bomber is covered with bright colors and logos. It's easy to maintain/ hide dents. And it has that old school ratrod style. heart Plus an all black car gives off that "move over or pay the price" kinda aura. pirate

I thought it was like a crashing derby type car thingy at first, but now from reading the details, I'm pretty sure it is a good racer. I can't change parts on cars either, it becomes too mind boggling. sweatdrop stressed
