The directions are way ahead of the road, by the time I got to the part described, I'dve already forgotten what it was because I would be hearing stuff two or three sections ahead as I approached.

Yer, the navigator usually calls out 2-400m in advance because the ground goes by so quick. It takes a fair bit more mental training now that the recce runs have been disallowed.

I wonder how much practice you'd need to get that good?? Then again those guys have probably been racing since before they could walk.

You can look up driver profiles on Wiki actually, and a few of them even have blogs of their own. I think your development part is something like that.

Because the car is ugly enough. No point wrecking it, it would just look the same. xD

You got a point there. It looks like when they go off, the trees throw them back out going "don't make me any uglier with your paint!" rofl

I had a bit of a hunt around and compared to them blokes I've started early, Most of them started driving when the were 10+ and it never really said where they started their career. I know most circut drivers start in Karts but where do you get a head start for rally??

Excel Rally

It doesn't usually matter where you start, but a noted series is always better. You basically need to plan your license upgrades and when you get to a particular point, you will need to test against other drivers in order to get a driver's position. The one-make series of Excel Rally will allow you to be more competitive(without the Evo's and Subies around) but you also need to expose yourself more, ie. enter the Dutton, the Targa(which is HELLA expensive)

You also need to attend the Rally course and find a navigator(you may be able to con one of your m8's into it, but normally you can ask the older drivers about who might be looking for a seat)
