So what really is Urban?!?! I mean, we hear it in the media all the time, right? Here's what Wikipedia says: Quote: Urban Culture:associated with cities, especially hip hop culture which originated in New York City. So whats your definition of Urban?

Urban for me is anything to do with the city. you don't have to wear baggy rocawear jeans and listen to hip hop to be urban. for me anyone who lives in the city is urban or urbanish. that makes no sense at all sweatdrop

i think this question should be "what does it mean to be underground?" I think certain cats out there mix the idea of being "urban" and being "underground" together........

It's true urban is closely related to hip-hop culture in media jargon, but I think that urban is just anything to do with a densely populated and cultually diverse area (i.e. a city or the like). Or maybe something more abstract like a city mindset or something. There is a certain aura a city gives off and I think that, for me, that intangible thing is the definition of urban.

I'm not quite sure what exactly he means by that but I think it has something to do with setting an example of how people from a certain city act. Like in school if you go on a field trip they always say "Be good you are representing your school here. How you act individually will determine what the people will think of your entire school." I think that's what he means by ways to rep your city. I might be wrong, however.
