I'm with you. RPing and LARPing are healthy and fun, as long as it doesn't become your whole world. If it becomes more important than your classes, career and/or your family, then it becomes an addiction.
Also, if it is a substitute for dealing with real world problems, it's not helping. Escapism is best kept under control, lol. It doesn't even have to be video games or board games. It can be just in your head.

The Secret World of Walter Mitty" is about a timid man who fantasizes about being large and in charge. He's not in touch with reality, and maybe if he struggled with real people and real issues, his reality would change for the better.
