Recently I found out that up until about the 1930s, my family on my Mom's side were Romani people that heavily practiced Shamanism, Divination, Witchcraft, and the like. I find this quite neat, to be honest. x3
Anyone else have backgrounds steeped in the paranormal?

Actually, ditto. I'm a quarter Russian, and if you trace my grandmother's side of the family back far enough, there's a lot of Siberian Nenet blood. From what I'm told, there were quite a few shamans in the family way back when, though there were countless more regular folks.
But just the fact of having such an interesting history makes me smile.

I used to know someone that was Nenet. She looked oriental, but with blond hair, a reddish complexion, and the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen. x.o

Anyone else have backgrounds steeped in the paranormal? I come from a family of psychics. My grandmothers fathers side of the family is all shamans. And I'm the decented of a Native American Shaman.

I've not researched my family history in the paranormal region, I have the ability to see spirits and partially hear them but my mother does not, but I feel if I dig a little into the past of my biological fathers family there maybe history there, but that would mean travelling to ireland.

And, I'm sorry to hear you wont be active much for 3 weeks. >.< I'm learning to speak,read,and write in Cherokee as we speak. Plus on top of that I'm learn American Sign Language.

But I probably have some relatives in the past that were medicine men and women.

Uhh, my grandma and reat grandma practiced 'voodoo,' or atleast that's what they called it.. I've heard stories of them (including my dad and aunt) going to a kind of "church" to have practices. My aunt is a strong medium.
I think that's all I know about the family history. I've only heard about Great Grandma once.
