Ha. I'd love to tell you everything I listen to...but I'd be embarassed. I'm sure Vampire san will slip on and tell you.

I listen to a few songs when I deal with spirits that are misguided. I do try to use things that will carry my own message of love and all.

Sure, dancey poppy or heavy metal (YEAA) will be great for the certain struggles that people that are targeted go through.

BUT

Imogen Heap: Hide and Seek

My guides love that song. I get all tingly and calm, they seem to all shush and listen when it comes on.

When I perform my healings, I tend to listen to my own music that keeps me from paying attention to shadows in the corner of my eyes or the bursts of wind on my neck or arms. It's hard to start and stay focused when you have a few demons effing with you and your family.

P.Cat Dolls does it for me. I tend to slip out of our realm and tend to entice the demons into it as well. I remain aware of my physical and astral surroundings. The music is loud, obnoxious and gets me straight through a healing very quickly.

I'm not saying that the guys should listen to pop, but avoid hateful songs. it attracts other hateful entities, and loving songs help you heal easier!

"Let Go Control" - Saosin, "Broken Wings" - Flyleaf, and "Fighting" - Yellowcard help me concentrate it seems. ^.^

The slightly more..heavy stuff like Breaking Benjamin, Lacuna Coil, Godsmack, and Skillet make me all tingly and allow me to better release my Psi. Though the drawback is that afterward I'm left feeling exhausted in most every sense of the word. x.x

And any techno-y songs help along healing for me quite a bit. ^^ Though I suck at healing much of the time. >_<

I haven't really tried music while speaking with spirits yet, but I was wondering if you listen to music that has a bad message in it and you're not doing anything with the paranormal at the time, will it still attract misguided spirits?

Yes.

I avoid music with negative messages, misguided spirits feel that negative energy from the music and investigate.

Christmas music. I don't know about healing or anything, but Christmas music is always good. Especially Feliz Navidad and the All For One version of "A merry Lil' Christmas".

I just listened to what you recommended. razz Imogen Heap: Hide and Seek

I think that's my new favorite thing to meditate to. lol

But I mostly listen to this relaxation track I have. It's like "Buddhist Relaxation Music" or something. smile

Imogen Heap is amazing. Most of their stuff is pretty amazing.

Relaxation music works. Don't laugh, I listen to John Tesh. His piano music really gets me passionate to do something with spirits.

Vampire san wants to mention "I need a hero" by the Frou Frou. That's his song, when he hears it he gets all brave and powerful. It's VERY cute.

Sure, i'm sure you get a great response to christmas music. Especially since they all have a very powerful message of love and joy.

One song that's interesting is Aenema by Tool. Listening to the lyrics, you'd be forgiven for mistaking it for a misanthropic, apocolyptic condemnation of humanity.
But Tool are never that simple.

It's a song about clearing away all the negatives, starting things all over again from the very beginning. Setting things right, no matter the cost.

I'm definitely going to look Aenema up. It definitely sounds like a song with lyrics I could get into.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I've found I can get into a very energetic and relaxed state of mind and spirit by listening to Clint Mansell's "Requiem For A Dream."
It's so much easier to do everything that way. :3

No problem.

In fact, a lot of Tool's songs deal with spiritual or metaphysical themes, albeit subtle ones. Another classic example's Lateralus, where the rhythm of the verses uses the Fibonacci sequence. Seeing as the sequence has a connection to spirals, anyone with an interest in sacred geometry would probably like that one. Not often you see it applied to music, after all.

Then there's Parabol/Parabola, which deals with the cycle of death and rebirth, and on the beauty of being alive.

Then again, they've also got completely non-inspired songs that sound just as good. Hooker With A p***s jumps to mind, which is basically just the singer ranting for four and a half minutes about an unappreciative fan...
