The Caravaglian military is referred to as the Navy, which, Caravaglia having been a naval power during most of it's history, is basically synonomous with Military by now.

The Caravaglian Navy is spilit into Corps, each fulfilling a different function. The Marine Corps is ground combat, Fleet Corps is airships and transport, the Pilot Corps is combat aircraft, the Medical Corps handles injuries, and the Logistics Corps handles supplies, burials, and paperwork. All the Corps use the same rank system.

Chief Petty Officer - E-7
Master Chief Petty Officer - E-8

Ensign - O-1
Lieutenant Junior Grade - O-2
Lieutenant - O-3
Lieutenant Commander - O-4

Captain - O-6 (Maximum rank allowed in combat)
Vice Admiral - O-7
Admiral - O-8

Officers of one Corps can give orders to officers and enlisted of another Corps. This allows for more efficient battlefield command, as one person can command all assets involved instead of "requesting" support from another Corps.
