Battle of the Wrewolves Rules and Overview
Those of you who've played Mafia, this game is a lot similar to it. The role names will be different of course, but the overall game is essentially the same thing.
First off, this is not a role-playing game per-say. Yes, every player will be taking on a role, but that's essentially to form teams. Humans vs Wolves. The humans win if every wolf is dead, and wolves win if they outnumber the human population.
The humans have no idea who anyone is, they're essentially clueless. Their goal is to weed out the wolves by figuring out who's lying and who isn't. The wolves will of course know each other. Their goal is to blend in with the humans during the day, diverting attention away from themselves, and spending the night munching on a human of their choice.
Here's how the game is played. It's split into two phases, night and day. During the night phase, wolves, seer and guardian send me their PMs. The wolf team sends in one PM for their kill, the Seer sends in a PM with who he/she wants a reading on, and the Guardian sends a PM with who they'd like to protect. Players are encouraged to talk to one another privately (the wolf team especially needs to keep in contact with each other, and obviously this shouldn't happen in the thread) through PMs or IMs. Posting in the thread is of course allowed.
During the day phase, everyone votes on a player to lynch. Once the day ends, the player with the most votes is killed. In the event of a tie, a random player involved in the tie is chosen to break it.
Now, more on death. When someone dies, they're out of the game. Forever. They cannot contribute any information they might know, and posting in the thread by dead players is not allowed. Dead men tell no tales and all that.
Rules!
1. Absolutely no editing/deleting of posts. This is to encourage players to think before they post, so that if they post incriminating things, they cannot simply edit it out.
2. Sharing PMs/IM conversations you had with the game host (i.e. me) with other players is forbidden.
2b. Players ARE allowed to share conversations between players.
2c. Faking PMs/IM conversations is completely allowed. Go nuts.
3. Make sure you can be active for this before signing up. Activity can make or break a game, and inactivity will definitely kill it.
4. I may have said this elsewhere, but please pm me to tell me your playing. ill add your name and IM name to the list of current players. The game will begin shortly after we get ten players. Of course, that isn't the maximum number of players, but the minimum.
4. This may sound ridiculous, but please include your instant messenger user name when you pm me your intention to play. I am encouraging all of you to talk and plot about this game on aim/msn/whatever messengers you all have.
Overview On Game Roles
Human: Clueless villager. All humans, including special ones, do NOT know who their fellow humans are.
Seer: Special human. Every night, sends a PM to the host to get a reading on a player. If the Seer survives the night, they get a PM back with the target's role.
Guardian: Special human. Every night, sends a PM to the host to protect a player from being killed during the night. If the wolves target the same target as the Guard during the night, the kill fails.
Werewolf: All wolves know each other. They do not know who the special humans are. Every night, the entire wolf team gets one kill, which they decide in a PM to the host.
WIN CONDITIONS: Human victory when all wolves are dead. Wolf victory when they outnumber the humans at the end of a day phase.
