Pumpkin, though adult now was up to her usual antics. Playing a game of cat and mouse with a family of merkats. They ran, she chased. They hid, she waited. A never ending game though this time when they hid they didn't come out and she was becoming quite impatient. "Heeeellllllllloooooooo". No answer, not even a little squeak. She pouted. "Awe come on lil squishies. I wanna play wif joo.""You insufferable idiot. Why you were the dominate personality is beyond me. They won't come back out because they are tired of being chased. Not just that but they are on the bottom of the food chain! Start acting like the lion you are and not some mindless warthog!""You don't have to be such a meany butt about it."

A sweet laughter tore through the air above Pumpkin. Sprawled out on a low branch was Heather, her half-eaten dinner dangling from where her paw held it against the wood.
"Meany butt? Oh, dear little Pumpkin, you do have a way with words. If you talk then your food will know you're there. You should know by now that hunts must be silent in order to be successful." She flicked her tail with a smirk. "Would you like for me to catch you something, my dear?"

"Oh I dun wanna eat sissy, I just wanna play, but they keeps running."
"You don't play with your food...." a growl left her maw before being pulled back to her nightmare that was Pumpkins mind. Rainbows, singing and all that crap. Was enough to make someone vomit. How could three insane lions produce a sap like her.
"But their not food silly. There my friends...or atleast will be when they see that I'm a nice lioness." She looked up to her older sister and offered her a big cheesy grin. "How's sissy's day going?"

"Friends?" She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Pumpkin darling, really, those are merekats. They are food. Not friends. What would momma Ira say if she saw you trying to make nice with them?"
Gracefully, she hopped down and walked straight up to her sister, leaving her unfinished kill to rot on the ground.
"Sister, you're a grown lioness. Grown lionesses don't harbor beliefs of befriending every little creature they meet. Everything smaller than us fears us. And for good reason too. Anything smaller than us means nothing more than dinner to us. We are lions, not chatty, friendly otters."

Pumpkin looked down at her paws a bit ashamed. She wasn't the ideal lioness or rather offspring like her two sisters were but she couldn't help it. It was just in her nature to be friendly. " Does that mean I can even keep a small creature as a pet? Cuz I saw this one fat mouse and thought it would be neat to name him Pudge....or even better Fatty McFinigan." She perked up a bit at that thought but then realized she was doing the friendly thing again and immediately lowered her head. "I'm sorry...I just dun know how to be mean and stay mean. It's not nice."

Heather flicked her tail once more, half annoyed with her sibling. "Of course it's not nice. We're lions. Predators. We're not meant to be nice to such weaker creatures." With a sigh, she shook her head. "You just need to grow up, pumpkin. You still act like an innocent cub. But the truth is you're all grown now. We're supposed to go off on our own and take care of ourselves, find mates. As you are, I have no idea if you could do that alone.""Find mates? Onononono, not without MY approval, little ones..." The familar ghostly laugh tore through the air as the Hollow stepped into view of his daughters. Hichigo's skeletal grin was ever present as always as he looked over Pumpkin and Heather.

She was going to respond to her sister and make a promise to her and herself to be the lioness she was supposed to be...but when her father made himself known all of that went out the window. "PAPA!!!!" she bounded over to her father just as she always had and nuzzled her head beneath his chin purring.
"Father, good to see you again."
